Between UT Economics and A&M Finance, is there much of a difference? I know both are ranked around the 25th slots but i wanted to know about job prospects upon graduation. Do economic majors get good job opportunities in the finance field? The thing that throws me off is that the Economics degree at UT is considered a Liberal Arts degree and i guess is considered as weak. I just want to become a financial analyst and want a degree that will support that.
Liberal Arts isn’t weak. I have friends who land corporate jobs at places like Target and Dell upon earning their Liberal Arts degree at UT. So don’t let that discourage you from majoring in Economics. Your degree is what you make of it. If you work hard, keep a good GPA, land some good internships, you will set yourself up for success after graduation.
