Moody College of Communication - Advertising

Good luck @kyouman ! Your stats look super solid, let’s hope there are still spots available still or us transfer students…

when can we expect all decisions to be out by?

I don’t think anyone has called recently for updates on decisions, I can try tomorrow if I find time! But I think everyone has been guessing mid-April or early May for everyone above 24 hours. @transferrrrrrcc

Nursing
GPA: 3.729
Hours:54( 6 credit hours, 11 in progress, 4 pre-registered= 69 total)
Will have AS in Pre-Nursing
LOR:1 from teacher
Essays: 1 good, 1 okay
EC: multiple in high school, and Phi Theta Kappa, honors
Volunteer: a lot

@anonymous88083 sorry, i meant when is the last decision released? like the complete end of releases?

@transferrrrrrcc june 15 is the latest

@waspoppin omg that’s so late… especially if you need to figure out housing and things like that

Do you guys know for sure if students who have over 23 hrs get notified first? I have like 53 (not including my 14 hrs that im taking this semester).

I know for sure that students with over 24 hours will hear back sooner. I have under 24 hours and I have turn in my transcript from this semester in May and then I will get my decision back later, probably in June. I am not sure if they deny students with over 24 hours and or only send out acceptances. I imagine they wait to send out denials unless you GPA is pretty bad just so they can see how many students they accept with under 24 hours. I am not 100% but maybe they’ll send out some Fine Art decisions tomorrow!

Psychology
GPA 4.0
Hours: 27 (by the end of this semester)
LOR: 2 from Professors
Essays: 2 (Topic A and E) - honestly not my best work. I was really busy and I am not super confident in them :frowning:
EC: Phi Theta Kappa (which I heard doesn’t even matter for Texas), internship at law firm this year and lots of volunteering from HS to now… my resume was pretty solid and well formatted.
I have been trying really hard in school to maintain good grades so I hope I can maintain my GPA this semester. If I don’t get in UT I know it will be because of my essays. Even though I am applying to COLA I heard that Psychology was pretty competitive.

Psychology is pretty damn competitive in COLA

hi! i’ve been reading along but only posting until now. good luck everybody, i believe in you all so, so much and know that great things are on their way to us all now. have a good day everyone!

Psychology is one of the more competitive majors in COLA, but from what I’ve seen in past threads and talking to people from admissions, GPA in Psych transfers is usually 3.5-3.7. What I’m saying is, it’s not anywhere near as cut throat as McCombs or even CNS.

@walk-456 I felt the same way about my essays. I have solid extracurriculars, 3 LOR, PTK member, 4.0 GPA, a bunch of hrs. However, the essays were killing me. I was way to busy with other things going on. I feel like out of my whole application, my essays will be the worst portion, too.

However, I think we shouldn’t freak out yet. We have high GPAs and other things to back us up. Hope you get in

Okay, just called admissions they said that for COLA we shouldn’t really expect a decision until May at the earliest.

Also, I asked about hours because I have a couple of classes that won’t work towards my degree but the hours said that they might count. I asked if hours that don’t count towards your degree count towards the hours needed for transfer admission and she said yes. Just thought I’d share in case someone else had the same question.

it’s a little frustrating that admissions has given everyone who’s called a different answer

Just called and the conversation was interesting…She said that the June 15th deadline is a hard deadline and that in general decisions should come out in May. I asked if we could expect any decisions to come out in April and she hesitated lol and said that it’s a possibility. I have a feeling they don’t want us to know if decisions are going to come out soon (super unprofessional idk why I was getting a weird vibe) so they keep saying May or June 15th

I honestly think they just don’t want to reveal that information for some weird reason, but I have an inclination that mid April decisions will be released. I do think that more competitive majors like business and engineering may actually have to wait until late May or early June. Considering how early we were placed into review, I don’t see how nobody will hear until May.

Why does UT wait so long to release decisions? I’ve already been accepted to Texas State University and A&M this week alone. I don’t understand why it takes UT forever and a day just to release results. One school I applied to sent me an email five days after I applied saying that I was accepted into the school. Smh I have until May 2 to accept or decline my other offers but I don’t know what to do taking the fact that our results from UT aren’t guaranteed until June 15. Smh
