UT Austin Fall 2019 Transfer

Someone was just accepted on discord into McCombs

@jeanmarie awesome! do you know their stats?

4.0 and 57 credits is all they said

I have been lurking on here the last few months but never posted anything. I was accepted into McCombs tonight as well

So when I applied earlier this year I already had above the 24 credit hour requirement in the fall so I know UT could make a decision without looking at my spring grades. I wondering if there’s a chance that UT could still ask for my spring grades anyways or if this has happened to anyone or anyone they knew. I’m still waiting for a response but it’s already almost june so idk if they’d do that this late in the game. Applied to CNS bio with a 4.0 gpa

@JustMadeAccount could you post your stats please? That could be helpful to other McCombs applicants.

@theonegoof 3.92 GPA, 61 credit hours at another Texas public university. It was my second time applying after being denied last year.

That makes me feel better seeing another person who got denied last year getting in now, hopefully I’m in the same boat this time.

Gahh mccombs decisions are finally happening!

Freaking out just a little.

Good luck!

I submitted my final transcript more than a week ago and it still hasn’t processed in MyStatus. My friend called admissions and they said they there was a glitch for UT and A&M transcripts being uploaded. It’s a little annoying but hopefully they can process them soon. I just wanted to say something so if anyone else was having that problem they would know that there are other students, like myself, in that situation. I want to hear back from UT but I know I won’t hear back till June 14th:(

4.0 GPA
31 credits
Strong Essays and Resume
Applying for History
What are my chances?

@walk-456 I had the same issue so I just sent it again and it was processed the next day.

@iamthor99 we have roughly the same stats but I’m applying for Classical Studies with 38hrs and a 4.0. I’d say we have a pretty dang good shot!

Don’t submit your final transcript unless you have under 24 hours. They wont save it and you wont be able to use it to appeal if you are denied.

What happens if they don’t give you the first major choice?

@samfilm I don’t know that that’s true. I asked Kevin from TexAdmissions and he said we can send them but he doesn’t know that they’ll be looked at.

@iamthor99 then you will be considered for your second choice. I don’t know how often people are admitted to second choice. it could be a lot or it could be not very often. that would be a question for the admissions office or kevin from texas admissions.

GPA: 3.84

Hours: 33

1st Choice: Business

2nd Choice: History

LORs: 3 Letter of recs

Essays: I wrote 2 essays and I think they were pretty good lol. Had my brother, who’s a lawyer, proofread them for me.

Side Note: I have completed Micro(B+)/Macro(A) economics and Calc 1(A), but I have not completed Calc 2. I am currently in the process of taking Calc 2 and should finish by the beginning of August. Would they even consider this or will they throw my application to the side?

Did poorly my First Semester with a B and a B+, so gpa was a 3.66, but I got a 4.0 second semester while taking 18 hours. Will the 3.66 hurt my application at all?

@Yddmeme yeah, that’s what MyStatus page says. I think it’s more about the amount of credits they want to see from me versus the grades, or its a combo of both. I had less than 24 credit hours when I submitted my transcript, but after the spring semester I will have 28. I guess since they want to be fair and release everyone’s at the same time, that’s why they hold decisions until they have done everyone’s applications, since they’re waiting on our transcripts to come in. It’s weird how each school does it because for two other schools I applied to, they gave me my decision and just said to update them with my final transcript after the spring semester. I wish Austin did that too because getting my spring transcript before the deadline was a nightmare. I also wonder why they do it that way because some schools, like UDel, don’t finish the semester until today which means grades won’t be finalized for at least a week. We have to submit our transcripts by 6/3, so essentially for UDel students who want to transfer to UT, well, they can’t lol.
