UT Austin Fall 2019 Transfer

Hi y’all, so I graduated from high school in 2018 and got CAP’d at UT. Essentially, they say “we think you have potential but let’s see” and they let you go to a UT system school and if you make a 3.2 you have auto admission to the College of Liberal Arts. I attended UT Tyler, made a 3.6 both semesters, received and accepted my admissions offer, and then made my fatal mistake. I was unaware of an enrollment deposit deadline and had every intention of paying the 200 dollar fee but as I had a new job and internship at the same time I was looking to start paying for some of the fees myself rather than ask my parents. I was waiting to get paid and then pay the fee. Four days after the deadline I went to pay the fee and to enroll in orientation and I get a notification that my admission to UT has been revoked and I am no longer eligible to attend. I submitted an appeal and stated I will pay immediately and am essentially desperate to attend UT. I spent a full year in a place I didn’t know that was polar opposite to my native home in Austin and really hope this mistake doesn’t ruin a dream come true a year and a half in the making. If you have any advice or similar experiences with results I’d love to hear them. I’m currently waiting for the results of the appeal due in two, seemingly never ending, weeks. Thank y’all!!

TLDR; missed enrollment deposit, waiting for appeal results, looking for suggestions or similar experiences and results.

Hey! So I got accepted off an appeal today for my second choice major. (Math) Apparently, UT didn’t even consider second choice majors for transfer students this year so for anybody wanting to appeal for their second choice you just need to state that in the letter. Also @Gtownboogie I structured my letter something like this:
-Thank admissions
-New additions to my application (Final semester GPA and UN Program)
-Quick highlight of the best parts of my application
-Statement mention that UT is my first choice

Also, I did send my final transcript. And I would only get a rec letter if it has some new information in it. Good luck y’all.

Got in today on appeal to second choice major. 4.0, 58 hrs, Added 4.0 with honors spring transcript, new LoR and Appeal letter.

@kyouman Congratulations!

@MoonKnight Thank you! Three years in the making. After 3rd denial, I gave it one more try. Can’t believe it!

@cmf3673 thank you!! I’m sending in my appeal today!!
And congrats!

@kyouman did you send your transcript on the portal or sent it in from the institution?

is anyone else still waiting on their fafsa?

I want to apply to Austin for the following year yet how would I know which college courses transfer over?

Hey guys, congratulations on the appeals. Recieved mine today. Accepted for my first choice, Evironmental Science (Bio)!!
I turned in my spring transcript that included my A for calculus and stated that I thought that might be the reason for my denial.

Congratulations @MarkEVS !

Thanks! I never had literally jumped for joy until that moment. My cowokers must have thought me a madman for a second.

for people who did an appeal, how long did it take to get an answer??

@utaistheway I’m still waiting on my appeal, I sent it in the day before the deadline. But July 30 should be the maximum wait to hear back. Good luck!
