based on the other thread, 2 posters said they called and were told no more decisions until after the holidays but historically, they have released every Friday in Dec leading up to the holidays. I guess we have a few more hours to know which is true (decisions were posted around 5pm Central) Fingers crossed!

Additional honors admits tonight.

Waiting game at this point. Let’s hope for a surprise.

hoping and praying for you all to hear good news today!

–I have no idea if there’s a wave. I’m just a parent

Tomorrow, not today

Has anyone heard anything back? Or do all decisions come out on Feb. 1st?

@nitasha0119 There was a wave of acceptances today for a variety of majors

great, thank you!

Has anyone heard from Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) and Mechanical Engineering? Also, do you always hear from UT - general Admissions first and then from engineering or can you get both at the same time?

DS is review, 1320 SAT, 3.75gpa, 5 APs; 4/5 on exams, lots of EC including regional, national and international titles in his activity (not a varsity sport), LOR from alum, undeclared major (tho comp sci or comp eng would prob be choice). Live overseas so no visits and no real “hometown” preference schools - any thoughts?

My ds accepted to Mech E on 12/17 as well as Plan II on that same date. Several from his HS also had P2 accepts on that date. Others still waiting, even though applications were all submitted prior to 11/1. It seems very random. Good luck!

@rdhdstpchld - My twin daughters have almost identical stats and background - 1300/1360 SAT, 32/33 ACT, 3.83/3.73 GPA, comparable AP’s, varsity sports and a few other activities. However, they are in-state non-autoadmit COLA applicants. I put their admissions chances at <= 50%.

@TXFatherOf3 I would put their chances much better than that. 32/33 ACT scores for a COLA major is really, really good. Congrats to them and good luck. Hopefully just a few more weeks to go.

Does anyone know when they release decisions for computer science? I’m not auto admit as I was ranked 56/876 but I got a 1490 SAT(690 reading and writing and 800 math). Am I still competitive? I applied priority.

I’m kind of late to this discussion lol but I was a non-auto admit (so close too /: 6.2% in my class) for Engineering. I was admitted in the first wave (Dec. 7th) and couldn’t be more excited.

@TXDad56 I hope you’re right. We’re certainly keeping our fingers crossed. Their brother is s sophomore in McCombs, and they REALLY want to be Longhorns like him.

Does anyone know if the Colleges of Education and Social Work have released any of their decisions yet?

Does anyone know if you are not auto-admit if the UT acceptance comes with the acceptance to the major? For auto-admit students, the acceptance to UT comes first and the major is in review. However, is this also true for non-auto-admit students? Thanks!

@izfluence I can’t speak for all majors, especially Engineering, but regardless of AA or Review applicant, I think all who have stated they were Accepted, stated the Major as well. ( I know A&M is different, especially for Engineering). If I remember right, near the end of this process, some applicants will be offered a list of available Majors that still have spots open. They are mostly in COLA though.
