I am currently a senior in a pretty competitive high school in Katy, TX. I have a GPA of 4.2/5, a SAT score of 2100, and an ACT score of 31.
i am in orchestra and have been active in more 10 clubs. I am also in NHS with 30+ volunteering hours. i am 75/685 which makes me like, in the top 14%.
since i immigrated here in 9th grade i really didnt get to build my gpa up in junior high which is really sad to mention. but you know....it is what it is.
what to think my chances are in getting admitted to ut austin or dallas?

UTD: Safety
UT-Austin: Match

UT Dallas - automatic admit (CR + M =1200)

UT Austin - low reach - Your gpa and rank will hurt you but you can explain the impact of moving here from another country somewhere in your application. Your test scores are very good so I think you have a good shot. Try to beef up your ECs with leadership positions. Ten clubs is a lot but more weight is given to depth of involvement.

The vast majority of colleges don’t look at pre-high school GPA, so that excuse isn’t going to cut it for UT Austin. I’d recommend you do what JAMCAFE suggested; above all, apply to a college that’s the right fit for YOU, regardless of prestige.

Good luck! :)
