@UTsipsT which CNS honors?
@UTsipsT I am sure you can do both. Just a double major. I know you can do BHP, engineering honors, and Turing with Plan 2
@UTsipsT Congratulation! My kiddo was accepted to P2 and engineering. Still waiting on engineering honors decision. You can do both but it will most likely tack on an extra year + for your degree. My kiddo wants to go to graduate school and do research, so they may not do P2-still not sure yet, as it is a heavy work load to be in engineering and P2 and time may be better spent getting a graduate degree and research instead. There are other programs at UT very similar to P2 that you can apply for once you are admitted (Jefferson Scholars, etc). Hook 'em!
@UTsipsT I would reach out to CNS and find out how the requirements of both honors programs overlap. If you enjoy humanities classes, Plan ll is a perfect compliment to CNS. The CNS Honor office and Plan ll office are very willing to help.
Big fat denial from Plan II today…
Hey y’all,
I am confused about Plan 2 scholarships. At first we thought students were automatically considered during the admissions process. Later, I found this website below
https://liberalarts.utexas.edu/plan2/admission/scholarship.php
and daughter and I had a hard time parsing out what was required for merit-based scholarships (without any need component). The writing strikes me as a little unclear.
We sent a message to Kerry Pasquale and she answered but I’m still confused because she indicated that it was too late if you had not filled out the scholarship interest form. That’s a UT wide form right? I think it was due before Christmas. Ok so that’s that.
However, we’re still getting emails that it’s not too late to apply for scholarships and deadline is next week. I recall seeing this when we looked at the Forty Acres scholarship info. That Forty Acres was due sooner and the rest had a later date.
I know these scholarships are few and far between, I just would love for someone to clarify if there is any point in applying now. Would the merit ones have come with acceptance? Are the ones still open need based scholarships?
Never mind. Daughter had seen the email and described it to me but it’s through Texas Exes, not UT itself.
