UT Austin: Spring Transfer 2019 Thread

For those of you speculating if it has to do as to when you turned in your application …I sent my application (apply tex) on Sept. 28 and it wasn’t completed on my status till oct. 5 (thank the Lord for grace period) bc I was waiting for my RL…all my information is in my audit. I am transferring credit from a Michigan university…maybe all my info is there bc they have to evaluate the courses to base off of Texas classes? Idk

@HornHopeful19 (Assuming the implied-acceptance theory is false) then i think that date of SUBMISSION is the next most logical. As i stated earlier, my legal name is [w]illiam [w]hitman, therefore if it were alphabetical, then a lot more people would be claiming the audit had worked for them because my name would be one of the last to be audited. I also applied early but completed it late, so our situation is very similar because i can also access my audit. I don’t know when more active members like @Sith77 applied so idk the circumstances of his audit. My acceptance is far from a sure thing and probably less likely than @Sith77 because my gpa is only a 3.74 with 34 hours, however, im applying to cola which is (in theory) less selective. I hope we all get accepted, but i know that thats impossible, so i just want to congratulate everyone who has worked their asses off and stressed for all of 2018 to get a spot. We’re almost to the finish line and regardless of outcome we’ll have peace of mind in our statuses soon

Well since there was no exact answer as to how the audit worked, I’m making the plain guess that, since we are all viewed by different admission officers, some liked to put everything in before deciding and some don’t need all of them documented. Either way we can’t figure out anything by ourselves so let’s just enjoy the holiday and focus on this next week :). Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Well said you two??! @kwwhit73 I’m not at all safe lol. Yes, I have a degree, and yes my last +65 hours of uni was a 4.0 gpa. However, I have a semester that is most regrettable. A close relative died, and I withdrew incorrectly, which resulted in a bad semester of grades, albeit from over a decade ago. That said, UT may not care. As far as all these theories go–i haven’t a bloody clue anymore. My surname starts with an S so who knows. As of this afternoon there’s no info on my audit, no transfer coursework, or transcripts. I do have good grades, but I’ll also need some understanding in order to get admitted. That said, this is doing my head in. I’m done speculating, either UT wants me or they don’t. I’m off to have a ?. Happy Turkey day to all??.

I need to stop reading these speculations! Lol!! I feel like they’ll give out the decisions next week for sure. So, patience patience!! Meanwhile, Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Good morning all. I found this from 2016 thread. If any of you are in my situation–not many I realize, but in any case this may make some feel better. Thought I’d share. Have a great day everyone.

Hey guys, take the degree audit with a grain of salt because mine way empty when I tried while I was still in review but I was still accepted. Just relax and believe you did everything you can to get accepted. And if you don’t get accepted, it’s their loss. Either way it will work out for all of you!

alright thank you for the info!

I received an email from TAMU yesterday congratulating me on being accepted (~2 months ago) and that conference is approaching and that they’ll need a confirmation soon. If I don’t hear back by next Friday, i’m going to tamu because this is officially ridiculous.

It’s not new it’s been like that for years. Most people end up going to other schools because they don’t hear back from ut on time. Tamu is a good school. Best of luck! @kwwhit73

Anyone not get accepted if their degree audit is completed and showing full courses from their transcript?

@eastcostliving, this thread has officially decided we are no longer taking that theory seriously ?

just wondering for people out there that have had their degree audit fully completed for them in the past, we all will have our cognitive biases lol

@eastcoastlivin see @Longhorn322, or scroll back a couple pages. That poster had everything in their audit, but got denied. A bloke I posted about a few posts ago had nadda on their audit (as I do ) and got accepted. Apologies if this is redundant. Cheers.

Have you guys started looking for the apartment? I am so confused. I’m checking via a couple of websites but haven’t called them or anything. This delay has really messed up with my preparation- even to the point that I don’t know where I’ll end up going. TAMU is my backup but even then I really want to go to UT and it’s frustrating!

Only way I have of going to UT now is if I sleep in my car between class then drive back to Dallas since there are NO apartments left in Austin. At least none close to campus and that `I can afford lol.

@Sith77 sorry to dig this back up, just stumbled upon all of this. But @utgoat23 said back in may 2018 that “I called UT today and they said that nothing shows up for me because i’m not admitted/a student at UT yet.” so can we fairly acknowledge that for those that have info showing up have a minimum a positive indication of admittance? Of course, nothing is confirmed, and we should not hold one source as authoritative to determining the outcome of this theory. Several examples of individuals with info showing lead to acceptance, very few examples of opposite. I know none of this is official nor guarantees any acceptance or denials, but time is running thin. Can’t help but to speculate! Happy Thanksgiving, everyone enjoy yourselves and eat away

Mate, I haven’t a clue about any of that. What I do know is there are multiple verified people on this forum whom have said the audit thing is absolutely £hit. One individual from last semester posted in this very thread to say as such. Perhaps I don’t get in, but if I don’t it’s not because of the audit BS, and the same goes for all others. I disagree with your opinion, there are many examples within this thread that the audit theory is twaddle. It’s most likely that the audit deal is a mechanism of personal choice by the admissions committee members. What other reason could there be for peeps being accepted repeatedly with no audit info?
Remember, many who’ve had the audit get the chop. All of this conspiracy theory rubbish is a time waste. Everyone needs a ???.

Just for funsises I called the office of admissions to see what they would say, they said decisions will START rolling out at the end of the month. Im guessing they have not released any yet and plan on releasing before dec 1, fingers crossed

Happy Holidays/Thanksgiving to all! Also a Happy almost Hannukkah to all my fellow Jewish peeps?!

For everyone who is stressing about the audit topic, here’s another bit of evidence from 2017/17 thread. See below ??.

@blue1996 I wouldn’t take the audit as a ‘sign’ of whether you’re accepted or not. I did one and it came up blank after already being accepted.

Cheers.

@CFLumos All of my information including my transcripts are in the audit for me. Course completion percentage, existing courses, school/major code, basically the entire outline of my degree plan as if I was attending. How can I not be positive about this? Just wanted to clarify before anyone starts dismissing this theory for everyone disregarding whether their info is in or not. I agree with you. But it is also not completely negative for applicants without info in their audit, based on vouches from previous users here. But this is what happens when we wait for so long. Patience is a virtue. Please do not let this get to your head.
