I just got in to COLA Government, notified at 7 PM. 3.94 GPA through an honors associates. Stellar EC’s, good essays, and a great letter of recommendation. Good luck to you all!

Maybe we’ll also hear by 7 Pm tomorrow

Does anyone have any clue how they do this? Do they decide all of the applications and then just send out answers every week until school starts? Or do they look at new applications every day and immediately send out the answers as they get through them? Also is it a group of people that decide? A few different people looking at the application?

Hearing all these Education majors get accepted is making me think I won’t be getting accepted, my application still says in review?

You’re not alone. Still waiting to hear back from Education as well.

Got into school of education exercise science at 7 pm today!
my stats:
3.74 GPA
46 hours
1 LOR
2 strong essays
strong resume
audit didn’t work
I received an email at 7 pm telling me to check my status!
Good luck to everyone who is waiting to hear back still! Hook em horns!

I had a question if prereqs aren’t complete do they immediately decline you for your first choice major? what are the chances of getting accepted to a second choice major at COLA?

Got admitted last night at 7pm. HDO Major

3.75 or 3.8 GPA? 60+ credits
Solid resume
1 LOR
1 pretty bad essay & 1 decent one

@hanjhutch I actually checked mystatus first then received the email. Tbh that the only thing i did yesterday was refreshing the mystatus page lol.

Anymore news? I’m still in review. Anybody think they’ll release more notices today?

I guess people will start hearing back around 6/7pm again today? At least I hope lol

@baibai21 Regarding appealing, here is the link: https://admissions.utexas.edu/apply/decisions/appeals
If you (or your high school or another entity) failed to send in required documents in connection with your application, you should consider appealing.
My son appealed and was accepted to Cockrell in 2016 due to a documentation issue.
Background
Cockrell requires transfer students to take Engineering Physics I prior to matriculating to UT Austin. On his application, son indicating he was taking Engineering Physics I spring semester 2016. UT did not indicate that we should send son’s spring transcripts, and we did not do so.
Son was rejected on 06/21/2016 (1st choice EE, 2nd choice ME).
We appealed on 06/29/2016 (including spring 2016 transcript from ACC showing he got an A in Engineering Physics I). Son was admitted in EE on 07/01/2016.

@yyss998, based on what happened to my son in his fall 2016 transfer, see above, and assuming you’re likely to be admitted based on grades, I don’t think they reject or accept until after the end of the semester in which you are taking a required pre-requisite. That way you have the opportunity to provide proof (transcript) that you took the required course.

Anyone think we’ll hear back today?

We shall see soon…

No word today?

I got in last night! It was my third time applying to UT and the first time I had any success. I received CAP my senior year of high school (did not take it) and I was denied Fall 2018 admission this last summer. I got into CNS Biology - 55 hours, 3.83 GPA, lots of volunteering and extracurriculars, and a part-time job.

Looks like nothing tonight.
