I just wanted to reach out and see if anyone has heard anything from UT Austin in regards to their transfer admissions. Also, if anyone has been accepted would you please mind sharing your credentials (GPA, hours transferred, etc). I recently applied as a transfer student seeking my 2nd bachelor in nursing, however, I was told it is not a program conducive to those who already hold a degree.
Given the fact that you already hold a Bachelors Degree and have (hopefully) taken all the Nursing Prerequisites, would it be faster and cheaper to do an Accelerated BSN Program? Most Accelerated Program are 12-16 months in duration. I don’t think the University of Texas at Austin have an Accelerated BSN Program, but there are other UT Centers (University of Texas Tyler), or other Universities in Texas (University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio (UTHSCSA)) that offers such programs. You should post your Nursing related Questions to the Nursing Forum:
Many of those who already have a bachelor degree and wants to pursue nursing follow the Alternate Entry MSN program at UT
The assistant dean just emailed me and told me it would best if i applied to the ae-msn. Guess I should start studying for the GRE.
Thanks for the input! i will look into it. My fiancé just got into to UT’s graduate program, so it would be nice since we will be living there. I hear A&M offers a 2nd degree nursing in Roundrock so thats my next step.
