yes, I know. But, the OP said he would do a Bio major at UT. That is in the college of natural sciences which CAP students are automatically accepted into.

why sacrifice something you like for something you dont like as much?
if its busines forget UT and move on lol

go to a UT satellite and then transfer.

It’s worth it.

He never said anything about business… at all.

ha lol my bad, i just thought that most people like UTS business school or engineering i mean who cares about that other stuff, but if he wants to do ANIMAL SCIENCE he should just stick with A&M he can go to the vet school at UT after he graduates

UT does not have a vet program; you have to go to A&M for that, if not Texas Tech.

do you guys agree that if you are going to graduate school directly after you do your undergrad work, that the grad schools recognition is more important? than where you got your BA

@hbanana- Applying to both schools was the smart thing to do! Turn in the CAP contract (and new app.fee). UT will let UTSA know that you accepted the contract and chose UTSA.
If you are applying for financial aid, submit the FAFSA with UTSA listed as a recipient as soon as possible.

you probably wont even have to pay the fee, i suggest you call the school and let them know so they can cancel one of the apps

The CAP application fee is separate from the regular UTSA application fee (and required). If you were admitted and submitted your FAFSA earlier, you may be eligible for more financial aid than if you only submitted the CAP contract and FAFSA. You can still accept the CAP contract -it is the best of both.

The reason you may be eligible for more finaid is that UT contacts the CAP schools after May 1 (the contract deadline). UTSA awards aid based on the FAFSA info (including submission date), acceptance date, and stats. Having early acceptance and FAFSA dates increases your chances of receiving aid with limited funding.

I did the same thing (submitting a app to UTSA and UT Austin) I have had no problems and I am recognized as a cap student. Don’t worry.

The CAP paperwork processing is different from (and just as involved as) the original app, that’s why the fee will be required. The good news though, is that if you already submitted a FAFSA (or do so ASAP!), you will probably get a better aid package based on your original acceptance date instead of on the later CAP contract date.

i’ve been accepted into the CAP program

just wanted to know how hard it is to maintain a 3.5 at UTSA. i’m planning on going into the school of natural sciences at UT so yeah

A 3.5 is definitely obtainable if you work at it. Make sure to do a little research before you pick your classes, check out the professors, etc. You can’t take it too lightly though.
