Hello, I finally decided to join this forum and was wondering if any of you could help me out. I badly want to transfer into the Radio/Television/Film program at UT for Fall 2011 but I know that it is highly selective. Just give it to me honestly. I do not want to get my hopes up.

I was a terrible student in high school and have attended three different colleges. The first was a junior college that I received no credit for because i dropped out. The second was a quarterly school where i did well at first but then my grades suffered significantly before ultimately dropping out of there as well. This story does have a happy ending however and I hope you have continued to read through all of this negative mess. I went back to the community college and have completed 34 hours with a 4.0 GPA. I will complete 42 this spring hopefully with a maintained 4.0. My essays were pretty good, but that is only my opinion. I do not have ANY current extracurricular activities or volunteer work. Will this be looked at poorly by admissions? I have heard that the main thing they look at is GPA, but that is just what I have read a few places. Please let me know honestly what you think my chances are to get into the Film program this fall.

Just to recap:
34 hrs from CC 4.0GPA
Poor High School GPA and previous College
Good Essays
3 References
Resume (the best I could do with no volunteer work)
No current extracurricular activities (I was in a few clubs at my last school- Film/Photography/Newspaper)

First choice major: Film
Second Choice: English

I look forward to hearing from you and appreciate any information you may be able to provide me.

Thanks.
