UT PACT Interview

I was just wondering, are interviews for UT PACT pretty difficult to obtain? As in, does the PACT program eliminate a lot of people, or do they retain a lot of applicants for the interview round?

I just want to get a sense of whether I should feel accomplished about getting an interview invite, and if it's an indication that I actually have a pretty good chance of getting into the program. If it's one of those things where every "kind of qualified" applicant gets an interview, then I don't think that this is something to be proud of.

Does anyone happen to have any expertise on this subject? Thanks!

Only 40 people get the interview. Not sure how many apply.

Two of the people who got in last year were also admitted to Stanford.

Where did the two applicants eventually go ?

@texaspg - Thank you! Do you know how many people the program admits? (I heard around 20, but I couldn’t find any indication of that on the website.)

~40 students were invited to the UTD/UTSW interview and then 20 students will be evetually admitted to PACT.

Thank you for the confirmation @Dad2013! Wow, it’s 50/50.

Really need to nail that interview I guess.

Right. 50% chance. But lack of medical experience of my kid may be an issue. Wish my kid do the best.

I don’t have many spectacular ECs either; I’m kind of surprised they chose me. I have a feeling that my test scores really gave me a boost and that the program really looks highly upon SAT/ACT scores. Well I wish us both luck!

They are at UT PACT. They are two I know about. I am sure the rest were probably quite competitive too.

Thanks. They could be a good example for my kid if admitted to PACT. I also heard that one kid chose B2B over Harvard.

@ venturalize what are your test scores, if u don’t mind letting us know

Hi I am a rising senior and I am interested in applying to UT PACT. I was wondering what kind of scores you need to get into UT PACT.

High school grade point average (minimum 3.50 on a 4.00 scale)
Standardized test scores (minimum SAT math 550 and reading 550, or ACT 27)

They should have this on their website. ^^ But I just put this here so anyone who wants to apply can see. There are more requirements than just these two, but these two are the most important before you do any applications. I am actually almost done with my application. ^^ I also hope I get accepted too.

It is very competitive. Most people who have gotten in have made the national merit cut.
