UT Plan II Honors or UCLA Honors?

I was pretty set on going to UT because of Plan II, and then I found out that I would be in the College Honors Program at UCLA as an English Major. Which would be better for post-graduate opportunities (i.e. grad school, internships, writing career)?

Personally I think that going Plan II would be your best bet. I’m biased of course since I’m an incoming Plan II-er as well, but I think if you found out English wasn’t an area you wanted to pursue, Plan II’s breadth and flexibility could easily allow you to switch around and not restrict you to the College of Liberal Arts.

That’s all hypothetical of course. But still I’d like knowing there was that security. It’s where YOU want to go. Put both schools in a hat, and draw. Whichever one of the two you’re secretly hoping to draw you should definitely go with. Also incorporate other things like cost. If you live in Texas, of course it’ll be incredibly more affordable to go with Plan II. Same goes for if you live in California but with UCLA…

Not sure why you think UCLA would be better for graduate school. Here are the profiles from the Plan II class of 2011 (last data available)
