Oh, good point. I know it warns you a ton that the action to petition is “irreversible” but you might be able to call them and ask? I mean, it’s still pending so it’s not like they’ve done anything with it yet…

so as far as anything goes…

i’m still eligible to take K and L…even though i scored 88 on the ALEKS test right??

(sorry…i’m a nervous wreck)

You are eligible to take K and L because you scored an 88 on the ALEKS test. The purpose of the ALEKS test was to see what your current math skills are. From there, they tell you the highest course you are allowed to take.

You made an 88:
88 is greater than 80 - You can take 408C (+D, if desired)
88 is greater than 70 - You can take 408K+L (+M, if desired)

Your score was high enough that you are allowed to choose either path.

so if i take 408C…i’m done with my math requirements??

or would i have to take another course after that (required)

btw…i found out that i got a 3 on the AB subscore…

so would you recommend that i take C?

The 3 on the AB subscore would mean that you get credit for K, and would only have to take L. However, since you said that you did not necessarily feel strong about the material, I would suggest taking K and then taking L the next semester. C will not satisfy your requirement as it stops halfway through L.

but don’t nat. sci students have to take 2 classes??

That’s K and L. You take both. L comes after K, it’s like a “part 2”.

Have the UT direct AP scores been updated yet? They were supposed to be up there on July 1st right? Mine aren’t up…is it just me?

Mine aren’t either. I don’t think they’ll be up until the next business day (Tuesday).

mine arent up either

Well I got my by phone to make sure everything in my schedule would work out. I thought I would fail the Physics C:M test, but I ended up with a 4. Should I go on to Physics for engineers II even though I don’t understand physics I >_>?

Then, would it be wise to call college board to get my score?

I need it for schedule, whether I meet prerequisite or not…

It’s not updated yet.

they’re up guys. can we claim credit or do we have to meet with our advisor about that? i met with my advisor during orientation but not about my AP tests specifically

i claimed credit before going to orientation and im okay.

I just replied in another thread too. You can discuss it with your adviser, or you can do it yourself. Just be careful what you claim credit for. See my other post.

okay, i’m an IRG (international relations) major. I got credit through all the following tests, should i not claim any of them?
-calculus
-environmental science
- english lang
-english rhetoric (whatever that class is called) - SAT math II subject test
- german
- psychology
- government

Well you wouldn’t claim the SAT II math because you already have Calculus. Otherwise they look like things you should claim. The only other one I would wonder about is German. If it completely fulfills your foreign language requirement (I don’t have one, but I am guessing a IRG would?) then take it. But considering I bet you have to take lots of foreign languages, it might be best to do them in residence at UT where the rigor is what would be expected of somebody with your major.

yeah i only got a 2 on the AP german test, but it still gives me 3 hours at ut. i’m not going to claim credit for german yet because i need to also take the placement test and idk how that works/how many more hours that can give me. but i’ll go ahead and claim credit for everything else. oh i’m also planning to double major in international business and i need calc 1 to transfer into mccombs. the ap credit suffices, yes?

You need credit for M408 K and L (or C and D). Which AP calc did you take? AB or BC? If you took BC, you have sufficient credit. If you took AB, you’ll need to take M408 L or D (L would be less material and easier) before you can internally transfer.

ughhh i think i just messed it up. my UGS right now is honors level sustaining a planet but i just claimed credit for environmental science with came up as ‘GEO 302P: SUSTAINING A PLANET’ does that mean i cant take my UGS anymore?

and yes, i took AB but i’m taking calc II during the summer

i’m signed up for UGS 303: sustaining a planet… i just claimed credit for GEO 302P: Sustaining a planet.

are those the same things? can i still take my ugs?
