UT Summer Freshman Class?

Does anybody have more information about the SFC? I read about it on bealonghorn.com, but all they say is that the admissions people OFFER the SFC to people that wouldn't get accepted into the fall semester.

Can freshman only be a part of the SFC if they're offered it? Or is there a way to apply to it? :?

I believe it is just offered to those who barely didn't make the fall session, but I could be mistaken. My s's friends who were offered that option had all applied regular fall admission.

Ahh, i see. I'm really kind of freaking out about this whole admission process right now.

If anyone could please tell me what my chances are of actually getting accepted into UT? ^_^. I have a brother that goes to UT, and i made sure I included that in my application....and i'm also a minority. I realize i have pretty average stats compared to everyone else that gets accepted. If I get offered the CAP program, then my parents won't let me accept it but if i get offered SFC they will. :?

Sidenote: There are apparently ALOT of people at my high school doing credit recovery right now which means that next semester they will be classified as seniors. If everything goes in my favor, I just might be bumped up to the top 10% (god willing).

Rank:
38/323 which means i'm in the top 12%

GPA:
weighted- 4.3/5.0
unweighted- 3.2/4.0

SAT:
Sadly, i got only a 1650 haha. :'(

Extracurricular:
NHS - secretary (11th, 12th grade)
Science Olympiad (11th, 12th grade)
Student Council - reporter and secretary (10th, 11th, 12th grade)

Senior Courses:
AP Chem
AP Spanish IV
AP Calculus AB
AP English IV
BCIS (computer class)
PE (need half of a credit to grad)
Govt/Economics.

I've taken AP/Pre-AP courses all throughout my high school career. I have a lot of volunteer hours, also.

I feel your pain! It is a stressful time for you right now, especially being so close to top 10%! I hope it works out for you.

You say that you are a URM, that might help you because I read recently that both UT and A&M are really trying to get more qualified URM kids to matriculate. Being 12% is so close! Is your school one that is underrepresented at UT?

Woops, double post, sorry ;)

underrepresented?

I'm not quite sure what you're asking. My high school is fairly new as it just opened up a few years ago, so it's not that well known (if that's what you're asking. lol, sorry).

What i mean is, do many kids from your school historically attend UT. But, you kind of answered it by saying it is a new school. I don't know what to tell you, but I wish the best for you! Being at 12% gives you a big boost, the classes you have taken are difficult and you have obviously handled them, the only thing that kind of hurts are your test scores.

Oh, i see. I looked at the stats and UT has only accepted 15 people from my high school, but that is only because this past may was our first graduating class. I'm a part of the second graduating class from here.

Meh, i guess all i have to do is pray now and hope for the best. ^_^

ps. thanks for the well wishes!
