I am really struggling over this decision because I like both schools for different reasons!!
I would really love some advice here because both schools are great for different reasons, I come from a family of Longhorns so thats another factor. Anyways, here is some info about myself, I really would appreciate any advice!

About me:

I want to rush a sorority
I don't like to drink
I'm interested in the Arts
I'm a little more introverted than extroverted
I have more friends/acquaintances at A&M than UT
Not looking to go completely crazy in college, I usually play it pretty safe
I want to find friends I can talk to, not party with
Jewish, but not that religious

I know that some of this seems irrelevant but overall I have gathered that UT is alot "crazier" than A&M and that the people at A&M are very nice but VERY conservative while the people at UT are nice but not as open to new friendships

UT - Better Academics and partying and sports
A&M - Not better Academics and partying and sports

Id go with UT and if you drink once you never want to stop trust me, I know people who thought they would do anything wrong but in high school they drink like crazy and they still have 95+ averages and are going to great schools next year like Lehigh, Fordham, and PSU.

eekqfn what about location? Austin vs. College Station. What do you prefer?
I would go with UT because Austin is amazing and I would rather be around people who are less conservative. Then again you should visit both. They aren’t that far apart and once you do that the decision will probably be as clear as day and night.

yeah obviously location wise Austin is hard to beat, I have alot more friends at a&m but it sounds like the schools are a lot closer to each other than I thought…

You will make new friends. You are really going to have to re-visit both and see what you think. It’s hard to answer your question, because both schools are excellent (sounds like UT might be a better fit for you) and have some very strong differences.
