This is for all the people attending UTSA for CAP. Does anyone know which dorm is the best? Also, does anyone know if there is a group/club for just cap students? Post your questions on this forum. I’m pretty sure we all have some of the same questions.
Stay at Chapparal Village or Laurel Village… personally i recommend Laurel because i live at Chap and its good 10 minute walk from the library and 10 minutes is long at 4 am after studying
Thanks. If I applied after the 25th, you think I would still have a shot at laurel??
My son stayed at Chaparral Village when he did CAP at UTSA. It’s closest to the cafeteria. Laurel is a bit newer. Be sure to watch for an informational CAP Program meeting held at UTSA in the spring. It is very helpful if you plan to go there under the CAP program.
@austintxmother Thank you. Do you know if taking a science course during freshman year is required or is it optional??
@SammySosa That may depend upon your intended major at UT-Austin. If you are thinking CNS or Cockrell, then yes! Check out the approved course sheet on the CAP website; it has course requirements and recommendations based upon major. Some have advised in favor of taking natural sciences at UTSA since the same sections at UT Austin can be hard to get into and hard to pass with a good grade since they are often full of STEM majors.
@SammySosa see this list (I didn’t find one for 2015-16 yet)…it tells you what you have to pick from your freshman year: http://www.utexas.edu/student/admissions/cap/2014-2015/utsa.pdf
Thank you for the list. When are we suppose to select our courses?
Here is the tentative 2015-2016 list: http://www.utexas.edu/student/admissions/cap/2015-2016/utsa.pdf
Pretty crazy that utsa filled its CAP spots already
They did?? Wow that was fast. Glad I accepted on the very first day.
