excellent recommendations (hopefully) from 2 teachers, guidance counselor, and an alumni.

my extracirriculars are well rounded and consistent through 4 years.

I applied in early october and am still waiting to hear back. Do my chances look good?

I have applied to...

University of Maryland CP
University of Delaware
Towson University
University of Virginia (a reach, i know)
Catholic University - got in
American University
Penn State - got in, not to University Park
James Madison University
Rutgers - got in
Rider - got in

feel free to comment on them all! please, be as honest as possible !

I'm gonna guess your from NJ because of Rutgers and Rider. (So am I)
I would say your chances are slim if you are OOS. UVa is much harder than PSU-College Park to get into, but if UVa's your dream school, there's no reason not to give it a shot.

If your not from virginia you pretty much have a slim to none chance, not to be a jerk or anything. UVA's OOS pool is ridiculously competitive, almost to an ivy league, if not ivy league, level. Unless you have some kind of crazy hook like legacy or something, there really isnt too much chance of acceptance

considering you're out of state. very very slim chances. if EC's are really good and your recs are really good, they might consider you; but your chance is not very good.

It's not like you have absolutely no shot..because there's always a shot. But if I had the choice to bet $20 on you getting in, I wouldn't do it. But don't give up, just give it a shot.

thanks for responding!

trust me, i KNOW i have a very slim chance haha. my guidance counselor actually laughed when i mentioned i was applying there. (she's a gem.) i am still holding out hope even though i realize my chances are very very small, but hey, it was worth a try.

absolutely. one never knows for sure. just don't be dissapointed if you dont get in.

well i mean, it'll hurt but i'm not expecting an acceptance. but knowing my luck, i'll somehow not get into umcp or udel, my top 2, and get into uva or something lol

jelabidin, i believe your chancing method is a complete ripoff of powderpuff's, a poor man's version if you will
