UVA club sports and activities

I am a 2 year transfer student that is very excited about joining the UVA community. I am thinking about rushing, but am not sure about this. I have heard some things about frats, but I don't really fit that mold. I am not the southern preppy type and I am Indian. I am down to earth and love sports however. A few questions,

Is there a multicultural fraternity? academic fraternities? What are the best fraternities that don't haze? I know there are older threads but any updated info.?

How competitive is club soccer? and how competitive is club golf?

Thanks in advance for the info.

There are very strict rules about hazing by the U. and by each national fraternity. The latest case at UVa that became public was making a pledge chug soy sauce. It turned out that was dangerous and required hospitalization, which I imagine greatly surprised the people involved.

When I went to UVa many years ago, there was a listing of fraternities by their average GPA. I don’t know if that ranking still exists. At that time, they only publicized the top few.

I’m guessing that the club sports would be very competitive if the UVa team for that sport is excellent. In other words, if there are many great players who wouldn’t be able to make the UVa team, then the club sports would probably be tough to make.
