Uva Decisions!!!!

52*............

I want to major in Poli-Sci. UVa's the best school for it, but I may have to settle for Tech.

Hey Katt, ya never know until ya know. Is that a Yogi-ism? Anyway, I sure hope you do get in. I hope we all get in!

Stay strong and keep the faith. It will all work out in the end.

i can understand the pull of wanting to go to a highly rated school, but at the same time i think it sucks to see people beating themselves up over how a magazine ranked their school.

well prestige is only one reason i wanna go to UVa...it's in state so gettin a REALLY good deal on it...c-villes a wonderful town...i've got lots of friends at UVa...campus is gorgeous...really good school

I want to go for many of the same reasons, nahrafsfa. Of course, having an awesome Poli-Sci dept. doesn't hurt either.

Katt are you gonna do a government major if you go to UVa?

I think the "prestige" nahrafsfa desires is more akin to how well the school places students in top graduate institutions, not whether she can tell her friend "I go to UVA," though there is some inevitable pride involved in uttering that phrase.

yes...and being torn between law and med school I think a degree from UVa(as opposed to VT) will help out alot

actually....talking about law school....does anyone know if it'd look good to do a psych major and a government minor?...I really dunno what I want to major in at this point....i was poli sci, then chemistry, now nothing...

Hey nahrafsa! Yeah, govt. major for me. I hope to go to law school also.

I want to go to UVa because it offers the B.S. in Biomedical Engineering. Also, UVa has one of the three VA medical schools (the other two being VCU and EVMS). I want to go to medical school after getting an engineering degree. Nahrafsfa, why pick law over medicine, or conversely medicine over law?

I show intense interest in law, but I'm also fascinated by natural sciences...in either case...i really want to enter politics when I get older and I don't knwo which would be better, worse, if they're both the same...basically i don't know what the hell i want to do....right now i'm pretty set on law but if i get in i might end up staying at UVa for 4 years and eventually i'll figure out what i really wanna do

in either case...UVa has a top 10 law school and an excellent medical school...(i was born there ;))

Do what you like for Law School, not what you think they will like.

whatever major keeps your gpa high... honestly that is the sense i get from talking to my friends that are in ls and from reading the ls board.

but there's the problem...if i put my mind to it i could pull a high gpa in whatever i choose....i mean it takes some time and dedication no matter what route i take...it's just that i really duno what i wanna do.....i mean government, social sciences, psychology, etc. fascinate me...and then i'm good at chemistry, math, bio, and those interest me too.

i basically just like learnign anything new....basically my interest hangs on how stimulating a professor can make the material....

Chemistry, Biology, and Engineering will give you a great hook when applying to Law School. If you can pull a 3.8+ in those areas, then do it.

I'm thinking about going for my bachelors in biochem
Then squeezing in a few psych and government classes, perhaps a gov. minor...i'll figure it out eventually...hopefully sooner than later
