I read 47,000 applicants (UVA record) for 3,800 undergraduate slots - so less than 10% – when taking into consideration EDs, and being OOS – amazing how tough!
Dean J said UVA will admit approximately 9,000 students so overall acceptance rate will be just under 20%
Don’t forget to account for yield. All colleges accept many, many more applicants than the number of slots they’re trying to fill. So for 4,000 slots, a college may accept 12,000 for example.
Still, incredibly competitive.
Good luck everyone!!
Yes - listening to Instagram Live. OOS rates down a good bit. They are posting percentages tonight or tomorrow.
She said they accepting 9k
There were apparently 29,000 early action applicants jeez
Accepting 9,000 in the EA round or 9,000 for the total class? I assume total?
Same since they accepted roughly 8400 last year.
And they have already accepted almost a thousand plus still have RD to go. EA she said is the largest group.
What are the odds of being accepted as an OOS student?
Good luck to everyone! Does anyone know what time?
Last year was 5
I didn’t even send in my mid-year grades
Those aren’t considered for EA anyway.
Does anyone know of a way to view decisions earlier by logging into UVA’s SIS portal? Something similar worked for a couple of other schools.
I was just looking through my SIS and I did not see anything. I know there was a way for NC State that worked for me, but I don’t see any way for UVA yet.
Does anyone know what time decisions are being released tomorrow?
probably around 5ish
From Dean J’s blog update from earlier today: “The decisions will be added to applicant portals in the evening so most students are checking after school hours (there are fewer people on the system after the business day is over).” I also know from my nephew that Early Decision (ED) notifications went out shortly after 5:00 pm on the ED release day back in December, hence the guess of a similar window. Good luck to everyone who’s waiting!
