You guys think the reason I don’t have any to-do’s on my SIS financial is because I submitted by CSS profile very late? (like yesterday late lol)
@UVAfan23 I had all of those except for the financial aid to-dos as well, so I wouldn’t worry too gravely. Especially with weeks to go.
@UVAfan23 the CSS and fafsa were due in the beginning of April so maybe that’s why you don’t have those to-dos…don’t worry about it ! And having no to-dos is better than having several like me
@lowrancc I’m about to send these forms in! Ugh so stressful…and I looked on the SIS to-do and it said “due date” for all those financial aid stuff instead of “deadline” if that makes a difference haha
my only to do is a FA application certification where all i need is to have a parents signature and it says it isn’t due until May 5th
@hooville17 where do you see the due date? because mine says the 13th of may
@snp2896 i clicked on “FA Application Certification” under my To-Do list and when I clicked on it I was provided details about what I had to do and at the top it said “Due date: 05/05/2016”
@hooville17 mine says the 13th…im so confused why are they different haha
@snp2896 yeah that’s really weird… I wonder if I should be worried haha
@hooville17 I mean it’s just signing so it shouldn’t be something to stress over haha they’re asking me to send a tax return form 8865 for my parents’ partnership business, but I don’t even see that form. if anyone should be worried its me :((
@LaVolpe ugh you’re making me lose all hope HAHA Do you have any to-dos for financial aid?
@snp2896 I beg to differ. Because I feel like it make more sense to ask for financial aid papers, especially with a due date AFTER decisions come out, than to not have any financial aid to-dos. But it’s possible that’s why I don’t have any to-dos, since I turned in my CSS late.
But we will all just have to chill out and see
Yep only a couple more weeks left!
Hi all I’m new to this thread and am applying as a 2nd year applicant. I contacted the financial aid office early in March because I was a little confused with all the documents. They told me that the FAFSA and CSS Profile were essential for any type of aid and needed to be turned in with a hard deadline of April 1st. If they did not receive the CSS profile, the student would not be eligible for any money that’s from the university so pretty much you could only get federal grant money (pell grants etc.). If those two things were submitted before April 1st then we would have some time to turn in all those other supplementary documents (tax forms W2s etc). I think they wanted those documents turned in by the 1st and I even got an email about it in mid/late March about it but there is still some leeway, however I would try getting those in ASAP. Hope this helps out with any confusion.
@intergrity23 that helped a lot! Thank you so much!!!
Let’s get away from talking about what might signify our acceptance and just hear what getting into UVA means to you?
@hooville17 when you try to click the website SIS gave you to get a parent to sign the FA application certification, are you also taken to a blank page?
@snp2896 yeah but if you copy and paste the link into a new tab it works and comes up with the form! when do you think you’re going to turn that in? i go to school hours away from my home where my parents are so i’m not sure what i’m going to do. i’m thinking ill sign it then mail the form to them and have them sign it and scan it to upload to my SIS
Where on the uvacollab page is the “accept admission” thing?
@uctransfer2016, it’s not on uvacollab, that “accept admission” tab should be on your SIS once you click view decision, it should redirect you to a page that says decisions are not ready till May 1st, and on that page you’ll see “accept admission” on the top of the literal tab of your browser. Let me know if you do or don’t.
@Edu_rms I agree, but I am still anxious with all these theories lol.
But getting into UVA would signify my persistence and determination to attend my dream school. Ever since I graduated high school I dreamed of attending UVA. I was pretty much looked down for wanting to attend since I didn’t have the grades for it, but getting in would just tell everyone who didn’t think I could make it, that I DID make it
That’s my own perspective and tiny story. Of course there’s other reasons but they’re personal-ish and too deep for this sort of forum.
If I meet any of you on grounds, God willing, I’ll be happy to talk about it over some coffee at the corner lol
