UVA Fall 2016 Transfer Thread

@UVAfan23 I can log into uvacollab and have the email thing on my profile as well.

I just saw that I have a green check mark and two financial aid forms to fill out on SIS. Does this have any significance?

@shiica95 oh ok, I guess every one has these little emails lol. Wish I meant something

@pethomas96 what do the forms say if you don’t mind me asking? I filled out fafsa on time I think, but I never filled out the CSS profile until yesterday. I didn’t know we had to fill out the CSS :frowning: haha. So I’m wondering if maybe that’s why I don’t have any financial aid to-dos. I know for a fact lots of people from previous threads who received fisnncial aid to-dos got accepted. So it could be a good sign

@UVAfan23 I filled out both the CSS and the FAFSA. & on my SIS where it says “To Do List” the forms are the FA Application Certification & the Parent and Student Sig. Form. I just got a green check mark yesterday so I would not worry! Thank you

@pethomas96 oh okay. I wouldn’t receive the Parent & Student Sig form anyways because I applied as a dependent student anyways. But who knows. I’m pretty sure anyone who gets these forms now is a shoo in. Don’t wanna give anyone false hopes but it seems promising to me.

Hey I just checked SIS and also see that I have financial aid stuff under my To-do list. I have about 4 things though…I have the FA certification, Parent 1040 tax form, Parent W-2 form, and Partnership tax form 1065 (parents own a small business)…I don’t know why I have so many to-do’s…? Should I be worried at all haha

Are there any non-McIntire applicants that still have the green dot and not a check mark? Just curious.

@snp2896 Any financial to-dos are not an indication of admission at this point. They are because you failed to submit all the FA forms required by the deadline.

For example, the ones you listed were all required by the April 1 deadline

EDIT: You don’t necessarily NEED to submit those. But they are required if you would like to be considered for money directly from the University.

@Jouuuu Yes. Not me, but I know people who are applying for the College of A&S and they still have the green dot. All this means is that your application has not yet been viewed. Nothing to worry about!

@lowrancc but I did all those forms correctly and filled everything they wanted :frowning: but the deadline all these are due according to the UVA sis is May 13th. So if I am actually missing all these things I still have time yay

@snp2896 Hmm…That’s odd. Did you email/mail/fax them to the appropriate place? You should have received an email within 24hrs stating that your forms were received.

The email I received read like this:

@lowrancc I didn’t particularly send anything other than transcripts and midterm reports. I did the CSS and fafsa forms online

@snp2896 but did you send a copy/scan of your and your parents W2s, 1040s, and other tax documents? They were part of the thing require with the FAFSA and CSS

^^Add in the “.”'s

@lowrancc no this wasn’t my first time doing financial aid so I didn’t think they required the actual forms. But if they do I can always send them before the May 13th deadline. That is if I get accepted haha thanks for telling me about these!

@snp2896 They need them each time you apply. You need to get them in ASAP. The deadline is not May 13. That is the deadline to ACCEPT aid. The deadline to submit those tax forms was April 1.

@snp2896 I believe @lowrancc is correct, I would advise you to do everything as quickly as possible.

@snp2896 Obviously they won’t put together a FA package unless/until you are admitted, so you can probably still submit it. But I would scan and email them over ASAP so you don’t miss out!

Is it a requirement to submit a FAFSA & a CSS profile? Just wondering because I did not submit them.

@collegeman8 They are not, no. Only if you wish to be considered for FA from the Dept of Education and the University

My friend whos a current transfer student at UVA told me she was able to access uvacollab, see the virginia.edu email and saw “Accept Admission” tab and all of that good stuff prior to being admitted. She also said she had financial aid to-dos, so it sounds promising. Not for me though, I don’t have any to-dos at all :frowning:
