Mine also still says self service but if you go back to the page prior to that one and look under “explore classes at UVA”, then it says what yours says @LaVolpe

@Jouuuu I know academically the odds are against me, but my essays are amazing (very personal and tied to my morals) and my 3 recommendations are amazing and from renowned professors/surgeons/deans. They are all very personal because they know me very well and believe I can do great things.
@UVAfan23 I truly believe that college admissions want diverse individuals who have different experiences to bring to the table. I would rather choose a more well rounded student than somebody with a 4.0 GPA, but that’s just me. Who knows

@edsheerio96 I can agree with that. My friend at a Johns Hopkins were begging me to apply because although I haven’t won a Nobel peace price and don’t have straight A’s they told me exactly what you told me, that the university is looking to actually get rid of the “nerdy” rep and bring in students with very diverse world experiences, not just top notch academically. Of course academics are #1 but it all goes hand in hand. Hence a holistic review. Otherwise ANYONE with a 3.8+ and 2400 SATS would get in without even worrying.

My essays idk in my opinion were great but one of my friends rated it a 7/10 lol. I think it has to do with all the extra things I’m doing and have done.

Yup. I’ve applied to
UVA, William & Mary and…yeah that’s it lol. This year I applied on instinct and impulse. My advisor told me I will have a way better shot next year but I do hope I get in this year. I applied because, well, you never know

My personal essay is about how I started college at fourteen and my main goal is to become a pediatric oncologist. It also states how I have been shadowing some of the top doctors in VA, PA, and MD. Lastly, it states that getting into a University will expand my knowledge so that I can provide a better quality of life when I become an oncologist.
