Hey guys, I also really do not like reading into things, but out of curiosity, does anyone else have the view decision button and when you click it Accept Admission comes into the browser (i.e. Google Chrome) tab? There’s no button or anything that says accept admission, but that’s what the tab says on my browser when I click the link. I don’t want to scare anyone or imply anything, but I’m just curious if anyone has that as well. Thanks!
@ftc1096 I do as well. I don’t remember if anyone had this last year, but I do vaguely remember it.
Just tried to play with the code a little bit and it kicked me out and I can’t even get back into SIS at all.
RIP me hahaha
@ftc1096 I read on last year’s comments most people that even saw the work “accept admission” in their SIS got in. so Congrats–I hope!
To everyone curious about what the Accept Admission thing looks like. you can see it at the top, and the stuff on the right is the code for that header, its origins, causes, etc.
The link is imgur, just change the x to an i (CC doesn’t allow imgur for whatever reason)
@ftc1096 @snp2896 @UVAfan23 and whoever else I’ve replied to previously about this stuff.
@ftc123 YES! Mine says “Accept Admission” on the top of the tab too. I was going to ask this but didn’t want to seem crazy for reading too much into it. I’m glad someone had the guts to ask lol. Thanks
@LaVolpe haha! You must know a thing or two about hacking haha
Nonetheless, I think everyone of us needs a break from the CC speculations, focus on our classes, ace our finals, pray and hope for the best
Just very minor computer science knowledge. Anyway, here’s the code for the url linked to this “accept admission” thing. As you can see, it is linked to my EMPLID, so there is a connection to individual profiles.
ptpageinfo.setAttribute(‘Page’, ‘UVADDECN1’);
ptpageinfo.setAttribute(‘Component’, ‘SSADMACCEPT’);
ptpageinfo.setAttribute(‘Menu’, ‘SALEARNERSERVICES’);
pt_pageinfo.setAttribute(‘Mode’, ‘CLASSIC’);
Implicitly, PAGE=UVADDECN1 is the pathway to the Component of “Accepted” and the DECN2 would be declination, etc etc for deferment and whatever others.
I’m going to try to see if I can get any of the others to open (DECN_2) to see what happens.
Edit: If anyone doesn’t have the Accept Admission thing, please shoot me a reply/message.
I dont have it!
Omg this is raising my anxiety levels lol. I need to log off.
And @LaVolpe, I wish I had remembered what I had when I was waitlisted a few years back. But systems change. I seriously wonder if regardless of the decisions everyone has that same “Accept Admission” tab.
@backinthehunt Are you sure? Care to snap a screen shot of what you have?
If you have Chrome let me know btw.
@UVAfan23 I feel like everyone had this last year, but I can’t quite remember.
sure, give me a sec. Yes I use Chrome.
You know the drill with the x.
My SIS looks a little different to yours…I dont even get a message saying that admission cant be accepted. But I applied before AND am enrolled at an NVCC which uses the same SIS. Regardless, there you go
@backinthehunt It’s actually because you still have the circle thing, for us if you click on the view decision (available once you have the check) the header turns into “Accept Admission”.
So once you get the check mark then you can click
oh wow okay. My b I missed the part about the check mark. Thanks for letting me know.
So if we get the accept admissions tab then we’re good?
Wow @LaVolpe that’s pretty cool. I was also looking at the links and such because I have the “accept admission” thing on my tab too. However, if you look at the url for the page, at the very end it says “=DEFAULT,” so it might just be a default display. I’m not entirely sure as I don’t know that much about computers except for gaming, but if someone does not have the message then it could be considered significant.
@SamoyedScience the literal tab is what’s “default” which is to say MyU.Va. If you click on the other tab it changes.
The other info comes from within the page itself, not what is displayed at the top.
var PIAKEYSTRUCT={EMPLID:“2573610”};
var strCurrUrl=‘https://studentsystem.admin.virginia.edu:18201/psp/epprd/EMPLOYEE/PSFTHRCSPRD/c/SALEARNERSERVICES.SSADMACCEPT.GBL?EMPLID=2573610&PAGE=UVADDECN1’;
var bIncInNavigation=‘T’;
var szCrefID=‘HCSSADMACCEPTGBL1’;
var szCrefReged=‘T’;
var szCrefVisible=‘T’;
var szCrefLabel=‘Accept Admission’;
So, the strCurrUrl is that, which you are referred (redirected) to via clicking on “view admission decision”. The szCrefLabel and ID are visible to us, while the others are hidden.
I’d to like to be able to show this more clearly, but it would be a huge pain in the ass taking pictures and posting them. Anyway, until I find someone that doesn’t have the Accept Admission after clicking on the View Decision I can’t see what theirs looks like.
@LaVolpe I sent you an email.
@LaVolpe my bad, that makes more sense. I completely forgot that pages have hidden info in them. We’ll all just have to wait and see if it holds any significance.
@SamoyedScience True, but it’s always fun to have DeanJ post inevitably that it’s all fake. Last year I believe the post was that the “Accept Admission Offer” on MyUVa was faked by users. People got pretty pissed, because so many were seeing and posting it, so it clearly wasn’t a hoax (her words).
The idea that no information is shared between these systems is way too funny. And people saying none of these things mean anything really bother me because, just using some thought process, people didn’t spend 100’s of hours coding random stuff into these pages that signify nothing and are triggered randomly.
Like, does that make sense to anyone? Anyway, rant aside, there’s no reason to be reading into this without info from users that don’t have it. Simple as that :d
