Hi friends! Anyone else have their McIntire phone interview coming up tomorrow / Friday? I’m pretty confident it will go well, but do ya’ll have any other words of advice?
@msport I’m not sure what a**** is. If it means what I think it is, I didn’t mean to put anyone down or anything. I was just giving him advice based on the stats he gave.
@CTUR782 it’s a ■■■■■ post, like a joke. It took me a minute too till they were like “my name is Virginia so I’m hoping that’ll pretty much guarantee admission” lol
@CTUR782 they mean to say it was a ■■■■■ post; not meant to be answered but rather made to make fun of how concerned we are on here, constantly asking to be chanced and all.
wow… didnt think that’d be censored… a tr… oll post
@CTUR782 what I’m saying is the guy you responded to is joking. they put their GPA as 3.1 and said they have not taken a SINGLE engineering course, yet are applying to uva’s engineering? LOL. They also say their name is Virginia, so they expect to be guaranteed admission, c’mon now. dude is t r o l l i n g (successfully)
@msport not saying you’re wrong on engineering, but Virginia is an actual name (very common in other countries) and the guy/girl said that he/she hopes to receive admissions based on name, but he was sarcastic I believe
Two options:
- That person will never be accepted
- It was just a joke
I am fairly certain that it’s the second
nah, that was a t r oll post, anyone thinking otherwise is just gullible
Will decisions be released on the 27th or May 1st?
I’ve been a lurker until now, but I figured I’d cross-check my suspicions: I think they mistakenly released them already. My portal title says Accept/Decline admission (after proceeding to “View Decision” on SIS), my financial aid information was updated, and extra documentation was requested, anyone else?
Further, other years had similar patterns for those who were accepted. Of course, this is speculation, and I wouldn’t be alarmed if you do not have these status.
Again, I am not intending to produce panic for anyone who does not have that status. I certainly wouldn’t stress over it.
@mualphabot What kind of extra documentation are they asking you for? And are you able to view your financial aid awards? If you don’t mind me asking.
If history repeats April 27, otherwise May 1.
@alarak Didn’t know there are interviews…
@benzgirl714 The financial aid certification form, my W-2s and my tax forms. It appeared on my to-do list recently.
I can not view my financial aid rewards, it states “inquiry access denied” and “award access not available”. However, that is different from how it was, which I think implies my acceptance, somewhat.
If it helps, I’m in-state.
McIntire holds transfer admission phone interviews as a new policy (2 years or so), transfers are interviewed by seniors at the school. It is not UVA wide. I’m assuming you’ve applied to the comm school?
I’m also in-state. I have the CSS profile and other tax information also on my to-do list. But I have had them for a week or two now, and I also get the inquiry denied status and award access not available. I don’t have the accept/decline admission thing however, just the generic check back on May 1st thing.
NEVERMIND, my portal title says Accept/Decline admission too! I am not sure if that was always there or not. Does everyone have that, or do some people not?
@openr215s2 I understand your excitement, but please remember that others may get worried if they don’t have it, so try and be considerate. No guarantees too, but I wish you the best. Thank you for your response.
@mualphabot Yeah, all the same things happened to me. It also says the same for me regarding financial aid… However, mine says “View Decision” not “Accept/Decline Admission”…
Anyways, I’m in-state as well. NOVA?
