UVA Fall 2018 Waitlist Transfer Thread

I’m brutally honest most of the time and I don’t like to sugar coat the truth. I’m pretty sure you’ll get in homie. You’re a junior and even though you have a 3.5 it’s still competitive for juniors. I’d say you have a good chance solely because you applied to CAS and the acceptance rate is quite high relative to how the waitlist is. If you got straight As or something close to that, I would definitely be hopeful and excited for the future!

I hear SEAS is very competitive from Transfermer on the Blog. They don’t take many applicants but I’d still be hopeful as there’s always a chance. I recommend sending in a recommendation and a letter of intent

@uvahopeful6014 Likewise man. Keep that 4.0 up. I’m sending in a 4.0 next week (this semester’s grades) and hopefully that is enough. I know i’ve done everything in my power to show UVA they’re my top choice and where I truly want to be

Sending in final grades this week… good luck everyone!

Sent them in last week! Today was the deposit deadline for accepted transfers. Hopefully sometime this week we’ll get an update from the transfer blog with some numbers or ETA’s regarding the waitlist

Hey guys, do we need to send a letter of continued interest if we’re sending our final transcript? I applied for engineering and got all As except for one class, which I dropped because I wasn’t able to get into the co-requisite lab section and the class was worthless without the lab (since I’m transferring and won’t have an opportunity to take the lab in the fall)

@“Dean J”

After I had already submitted my letter of continued interest, I received an award and interview to be published campus wide about some of my professional pursuits. I sent another email with scans of both the award and interview and received an email back that said “We appreciate this information, and it has been added to your file.”

Will this truly be added to my file? I know that more letters of recommendation were specifically stated to NOT be included, but this was kind of an “ad-hoc” event that would support my application. I’m curious as to whether this kind of stuff is truly looked at when we are reviewed again for waitlist decisions.

Thank you for all the help and time!

Are you asking me if one of my colleagues here in the admission office was lying when they replied to your email?

@“Dean J” not at all (when you put it that way, I see how this comes off as a rude question - definitely didn’t mean it like that). Was just curious because blog says no extras like letters of rec, and sometimes students can send a lot more material than necessary or wanted

Hi @“Dean J”,

Do you have any word if there will be much movement off the transfer waitlist for CAS?

Had to pay my deposit elsewhere, waited as long as I could incase it was early  .

Hope you are well!

Just got accepted to GW but my heart still lies with UVA… hopefully we hear sooner rather than later this year!

P.S. guys, just saw someone that applied to SEAS got accepted off the waitlist (check transfer blog).

I hope we can get an official update soon!

I’m feeling so sad. Got a 4.0 GPA for the spring semester. Applied for SEAS but still received nothing.

Yes I believe the SEAS wave was today. They already don’t take off many from that school. CAS wave for the last 3 years from what I know has been a week after. So that means next week we are sure to have a wave!

Based on the transfer blog, only 1 person got off waitlist today?
How many 4.0s still waiting?

Ughh let the anxiety begin again haha. I really hope we hear next week. I need to know what i’m gonna be doing this fall…

Are we supposed to hear back tomorrow at 5?

Anyone has “inquiry access denied” in the financial aid for now? I still don’t have one.

@alarak don’t expect it… looking at previous years it is a consistent trend for a couple SEAS/Nursing students to be taken off the waitlist 1-2 weeks before June 17 (the day that CAS takes people off the waitlist).

McIntire is on a case by case basis, so your decision could be released at any time… transfermer should update us soon though since a decision went out…

@deliciousSteak I have inquiry access denied. it wasn’t there when I got my decision for the waitlist back in april…
