UVA kids party?

So, I am a current junior and extremely interested in UVA. I have briefly visited the campus once with my family, and have not really got the feel of the campus socially. I plan to spend a weekend with a friend of mine who will be attending next year, but to those who know, is UVA a party school? How often do students go out? Are the parties exclusive? Social life is huge, especially in college, and I just want to make sure that I wont be the only one who wants to go out on Friday nights only to find nothing to do.

Thank you in advance.

I visited during Days on the Lawn and we arrived very late on Friday night (around 1-1:30 am Saturday morning, actually). We had to drive partway through campus and then past the Corner to get to where we were staying.

Relay for Life was going on that night I think - looked like lots of American Cancer Society stuff and people hanging out on the track and field within the track. Some people were also out playing volleyball in the sand court.

On the corner, so many people were at this one bar! I don’t remember its name, but it had an upstairs balcony that looked absolutely crowded. That will have to wait until you’re older though.

I’m sure a current student could answer this more in depth, but there is definitely stuff that goes on at night.

You want to go out on Friday nights?

Don’t worry.

You will be FINE at UVA!

That would be Trinity. It more or less prints money.

UVA is very social. You won’t have any trouble finding places to go/things to do.

Is there a big alcohol scene? HOW ARE THE GIRLS?!?!

Social scene is awesome! Mainly frat parties first and second year, then bars. Girls are HOT! Some sweet and Southern, a lot are *****y, but like to have fun!
