UVA or UNC as a transfer

I got into both.
I liked both when I visited them.
I'm out of state for both.
I'm a pre-med, bio major and will be a sophomore next year.

What would you do?

Honestly, I'd go to whichever is cheaper. If they're very close in price (like less than $5000), I'd visit both and decide. Neither is better than the other in any particular way at the undergraduate level, and they have many extracurricular similarities.

i believe that the price difference is about $3,000 in UNC's favor, but I'm from Maryland, so UVA is a lot easier to get to for me.

How long do you have to decide?

until may 12th for both of them

what do you plan to study?

biology, i'm premed

I don't even know how to advise you in this situation. They're both very similar and very strong. Visit both and toss a coin, or something.

haha. thanks. i'm leaning towards uva right now cause i know more people there than i do at unc and i'm thinking that might help with the transition.

i am going to UNC, but i would honestly pick UVA, i just didnt apply. i'd say they are both amazing, but UVA is just slightly better than unc in reputation, beauty of campus, strength of football team, etc. good luck

Yes, but UNC has slightly better basketball. lol.

I'm going with UVA! i'm kind of excited!

COngratulations! How'd you come to your decision? And why so soon?

Oyze,

Welcome & Wahoowa!

Well, I was going to try and visit both, but I won't be done with my exams in time to really see either of them in action, and I've visited both before. I guess I just like UVA better for whatever reason. I have some good friends going there. And after I looked at the classes I would be taking and the requirements, things transfer over better from my school to UVA than they do to UNC.

Thanks for the advice! See you in the fall!
