I educated a 9 year old autistic child for a year on my own time twice a week. I taught him how to speak correctly, write, think and express himself. Over the year, his family saw improvement, and I am very proud of this.

My GPA is low because my family (single mom, father committed suicide) went through a financial crisis and we were almost homeless for a while. Sometimes I did my homework in our car full of newspapers, where I would then sleep.
My grades completely changed after sophomore year... straight A's!

What are my chances?
UMich, Cal, UCLA, NYU, Emory, UVA, Reed College, College of William & Mary, George Washing University?

note: i am actually a junior, but these stats are what I am projected to end up with. i'll spend my senior year back in CA. what could i improve?

What is your UC GPA? If it is about the same as your weighted GPA, you'll have a decent shot at UCLA and Cal. I'm not sure if you'll count as in-state, though. That will make a big difference.
