UVA vs. Emory

So I got into both of these schools. I plan on going into economics my first 2 years, then transfer to business school (mcintire for uva and goizueta for emory). MONEY IS NOT AN ISSUE as I am out of state for UVA. I was wondering which school was better based on:

academics
beauty of the campus
prestige (which is more "impressive")
where one would have more fun

I realize that these two schools are completely different and it is more about "fit" as uva is public and emory is private, but I really have absolutely no idea which one I should choose. I figured that this thread would be more geared towards UVA so please explain why UVA is a better choice. Thanks!

You asked for why UVA:

McIntire is a better program than Goizueta and will give you better access to non-SE markets like NYC. Emory mostly places in ATL and Charlotte.

Charlottesville is vastly superior to Decatur - better atmosphere, feel, people.

UVA has Division I sports and there’s a lot of school spirit - people are very proud to go here.

As referenced above, very loyal alumni base.

You’d be hard pressed to find a nicer campus (“Grounds” ;)) than UVA’s.

I think UVA’s setting is more conducive to “fun” than Emory’s is, but that’s just my opinion.

UVa and Emory are peer schools. However, when it comes to
High Finance(Banking) and Consulting, UVa is more known and heavily recruited than Emory.

UVa has very deep and long relationships with all the top banks and firms.
Emory is still a good school but they lack history and connections with the banks.

One of the weakness of Emory is that its recruiting demographic is pretty much limited to South yet UVa is well represented throughout all East Coast.

So, if you are thinking about Economics or Business, UVa offers better academics and prestige. For campus beauty, I think they are both very pretty.
I heard that Emory students lack school spirit though.

I had to make this decision 2 years ago. I went with UVA and haven’t ever had second thoughts… I just felt that the comm school was better, not to mention the D1 sports and school spirit. Come to UVA- you won’t regret it!
