Uva VS. NYU

Which has a better reputation. Thy are both on the east coast so I think they are generally both talked about in the same circles. I was wondering if anybody knows which one is generally considered more prestgious. Any thoughts?

For ug UVa probably except in the arts and maybe business

Really? I would have said NYU, but then again, I don't know too much about UVA. Plus, if you go to NYU, you get to live in NYC.

Overall, UVA provides a more complete undergraduate experience, but it really depends on what you want. If you want to study Finance, Art, Film or another sort of fine or performing art, and care nothing for campus life, NYU could well be the better option. But if you intend to major in a more traditional field and if campus life is important to you, UVA makes more sense.

Overall, UVA is better in traditional academics, but NYU is exceedingly strong in the art. Also, UVA has a conservative flair while NYU shows a distinctively liberal twist. Much higher diversity at NYU as well (but to be fair, Virginia isn't the most diverse of states).

I'd pick VA, but im not really a big city person. If you are pick NYU.
