Hey!
I just got in to both UVM and UMASS Amherst and was wondering which is better for political science. What are the pros and cons of each program?

Thanks:)

Hi, I don’t know about either program, but I think you might research the faculty a bit to see what they’ve published or done in their field. UMass Amherst is on an international list of the top universities because one of the criteria of the list was how often their faculty’s research and publications were cited by other people in their field. I don’t know if that reflects the work of the Poli Sci faculty too, but it does suggest a way to look at who your teachers/advisors would be.
As a parent, I’d probably advise you to choose the home-state university, though, to save money! Paying as an out of state student doubles the expense, unless you get a really good grant to the OOS school.
Good luck!
