Yes Anika, we are all still waiting on CS appeal decisions. My college counselor at my high school told me today that according to her resources, the admission office at UW is overwhelmed and extremely busy because they are currently understaffed, and if last year is any indication, she strongly feels that CS appeals will be sent out on Friday April 29 and probably not earlier.

I applied mid March and after that I received an email confirming my appeal application. So far I haven’t heard anything back from them.

Some people in Reddit said that they were accepted through the appeal recently for CS but for the most part, I think they’ll release them apr 29rh

My son submitted his general appeal on March 20 and we have not heard a thing. It’s discouraging as their website says they respond to appeals within 2-4 weeks.

Our son just received this email:

Thank you for submitting your appeal for direct admission to the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering.

You will receive your appeal decision after the May 1 confirmation deadline. Please note that accepting your offer of admission by the deadline will not increase your chance of admission to computer science or computer engineering. Should you choose to confirm before you receive your appeal decision, you must be prepared to pursue majors outside of the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science and Engineering if your appeal is not approved. There are a limited number of spaces for students not admitted directly to computer science or computer engineering as freshmen, and we cannot guarantee admission at a later date.

If your appeal is approved and you have not yet confirmed your enrollment at the UW, you will be given an opportunity to do so.

If you have any questions about next steps or alternate major possibilities, feel free to contact your admissions counselor.

wow they could not make a final decision before the 5/1 deadline now. when did your son submit his appeal?

Well now it appears they are telling CS appellants the same thing they told students who wanted to appeal business direct admission decisions. But they gave that message to business applicants back in March, which I appreciated. My daughter was not willing to accept admission to UW without direct admission to major so she was able to move on weeks ago.
