Applying directly to UW college of engineering with the goal of a chemical engineering degree.
High school GPA 3.56
College GPA 3.77 (I took a few AS classes 6 years ago that I am pretty sure don’t transfer. If I don’t count the grades in those classes my gpa is above 3.9, anyone know if those are included?)
I have one withdraw, which is in calculus 3 It was due to a scheduling conflict with work and not being able to attend class on time past the midway point of the semester. I did not explain this as it had not happened yet at the time I submitted my application.
I am 32 and have been working as a superintendent in construction for the past 8 years. I have a wife and child. I grew up in Wisconsin and would like to return. I included this in my essay, but i am not 100% sure if this will help or hurt me.
I never took the SAT out of high school so I took it and retook my ACT from H.S. This was initially done because some of the top colleges require test scores for admission, but with the B dropping me from a perfect 4.0 since returning to school in 2013 and after seeing how people with way better stats than me were being rejected by the top schools, I decided to skip the headache and heartache of trying.
Scores:
ACT (year 2000) 29
ACT (year 2014) 32
SAT (year 2014) 2030
I think that’s all the info I have to include. I was not very motivated in high school and didn’t really have any strong extra curricular activities or awards to add.
