UW-Madison or JMU

Need some wise advice from you, wise peolple.
I know the pros and cons for each of them. Very tough call, I think.
Can anyone share their thoughts with me?

What are you hoping to study?

This is a no-brainer, UW. It's one of the best schools in the country.

UW!!! I can't think of a single reason to attend JMU over UW. Not a single one. That is, of course, unless you hate the cold, in which case I would reiterate: go to UW!

I got into UW and chose a lower ranked school(GW) over it. I really liked the sound of UW, and I liked JMU, also. For pure academics, go to UW. For a warmer, smaller college atmosphere, go to JMU.

UW-Madison is a world-class university; it also offers undergraduates amazing opportunities though it does not have the prestige at that level that it does at the graduate level (nor do most other state schools). JMU is fine, but not anything like at the same level as UW, and although it isn't as large as UW, it still is large enough so I don't think you would have a truly small-school experience. Nor is the weather exactly semitropical in the Shenandoah Valley, though spring will come earlier than it will to Madison. Madison is a wonderful college town and a vibrant state capital. I can't imagine choosing JMU over UW-Madison unless there are pressing financial or serious personal reasons to do so.

Wisconsin is a worldclass university in a top college town atmosphere and students from all over the US and world.
