UW Seattle, UMN, Rutgers, Ohio State(+$5k/yr) where should i go???

Hey, can you guys give me some suggestions as to where I should enroll at?
My major is not decided yet

University of Washington Seattle:
I heard it's overrated? great city, but potential quake?

University of Minnesota Twin Cities:
well-balanced? freezing

Rutgers University:
good location but top 3 on "unhappiest students" rank

Ohio State University Columbus:
offered me $5k/yr scholarship. someone said "it's only good at business. other areas are mediocre"

Thanks in advance! People who put lots of emphasis on ranking said "UW no doubt!" but I want to know whether they overlooked merits of my other options...

If you are undecided on your major, your best bet for overall program strength would be Ohio State or Minnesota. Try and come up with likely majors for you as well as outside reading and visits of perspective schools.

I would highly recommend going to the University of Minnesota. I believe that the overall national reputation of the UMN is on par with all of these institutions, and is quickly rising in undergraduate selectivity. Minneapolis and St. Paul offer a large range of opportunities, including internships, green space, great music, sports, food, and social scene. The weather in the Spring, Summer, and Fall is excellent. Winter is a little chilly with a lot of snow, but you get used to it quickly and learn to dress appropriately. Winter also allows you all sorts of winter activities, like the St. Paul Winter Carnival, Minneapolis Aquatennial, and ice skating at the Depot.

you should really decide your major, all these schools have different individual strengths and the best fit for you will depend a lot on major

I think overall it comes down to UMN vs UW-Seattle. They are very similar in most regards with both upping their OOS students recently with a goal of around 25% OOS. Seattle is not so cold but wet/gray most of the school year (I live in Seattle–believe it is cloudy wet from October-June most years but rarely below freezing). Academics are a draw with each having some strengths versus the other but both good enough in everything. For sports UW has the edge if you like college sports.
So just go where you feel most attracted.
