Hello! I'm really interested in majoring in Psychology and/or Neuroscience, both of these schools have offered me admission but I just can't make my mind!

Honestly, I like both of them but I guess my criteria should be:

Research opportunites as an undergrad

Overall prestige/reputation

% of students who went to good grad schools (which one would more appealing to ivy leagues)

From what I read I can't really draw a definitive line in which one is better than other. So.. which one would you prefer and why?

Minnesota would probably be cheaper, unless you live in Washington. Washington is considered more prestigious I think, but the difference between them in that regard isn’t very big.

I forgot to mention that I’m an international student and the out-of-state cost tuition differences aren’t really a dealbreaker for me. I’m so undecided right now that virtually any clear advantage of one over the other would really help me in my decision. Also, the usual rankings are not helping at all, like in the overall (US news, ARWU, etc.) Washington seem to fare better than Minnesota, but when a specific dept. like Psychology or Neuroscience Minnesota seems to be better.

Seattle is a really fun and vibrant city and the U is right there in the thick of it, removed from downtown but quite close. It is a beautiful city on the water, ringed by mountains. Although it does get a lot of rainfall, it will never be snowing or as cold as MN. I haven’t been to Twin Cities, though.
