Mine was 404 before now it’s 500. Glad to hear you all have 500…unless we all got rejected lol hahaha lol ouch trying to laugh it off :-S I mean error basically just means nothing has happened YET or we realy actualyl did get rejected so I hope it’s the first option
Sorry if I’m scaring anyone it’s the nervousness talking lol I’m already in that scared negative stage and it’s only day one X_X
So, I got a decline notice from Foster today, but my GPA was calculated in error (they counted original classes that I retook years ago against me, which is completely against their policy on the website, as well as my transfer school’s). I was above the average accepted student in the writing assessment as well as pre application GPA. I set up an appointment to appeal without having been given notice of the university’s decision, but I believe that might have hinged upon my transfer to Foster. Hopefully this information helps. And congrats to anyone that got accepted!
I’ve read that the transcript trick doesn’t always work… Also, it’s very early on for autumn transfer acceptances to roll out. I guess we will just have to be patient and wait! I hope that we all get in! To those who know that you got in, if you don’t mind me asking, what was your transfer GPA and the amount of credit hours being transferred?
@Grey007 For summer transfer is kind of late. Hopes that the transcript trick just didn’t work for us. Good luck to everyone here
When I click on my transfer application, it now says “Congrats, you have been admitted…” Good luck to everyone!!
I’ve been doing major internet research, specifically social media. Looks like people have been getting accepted since the 18th just like last year so fingers cross and good luck to us all. They supposedly come out in batches so hopefully it’s only been the first batch. It’s pretty scary and really hard to stay impatient at this point knowing some people have gotten theirs already!
This is the most competitive/big thing I’ve ever done and not a single person know I applied but for you guys and admissions so that makes it even harder to wait
@helenbruhh Yay congrats!! Do you mind telling us about yourself: school/s transferring from, credits, gpa, etc?
I think the first wave of acceptance letters is for those who applied to Foster school like my friends.
None of my engineering friends has their notifications yet
@thaipq Isn’t acceptance into majors separate from the actual university though? I’ve heard of many people getting accepted into their major but not UW.
@curiousgalll it is not true, it would be a very rare case that you get accepted to a department but no to the actua university.
for a transfer student, if you get accept into a department, it would be like 98%+ you will get into the school
@thaipq No like literally I actually know many people. There are people who are good enough for their major but not good enough for UW. The department and UW don’t decide together on who to accept, it is completely separate
I agree with @thaipg that it is very rare to be admitted to an academic department and not to the UW. It’s possible you’ve been misled @curiousgall
I don’t think you guys are understanding the fact that I actually know these people so I don’t know how it is possible to be misled. My boyfriend as well know many people that has had that happen to them before and he’s a senior at foster business school. It happens and it’s just like sports. Athletic department wants them but not the school which is a much bigger deal too because sports gives colleges it’s image and they want the best players possible. It happens all the time. There are things that trigger departments into having interest for students that UW really does not care for. General admissions and department admissions don’t work out their application process together.
it is true for Athletic department since their admission and general admission are totally different.
The general admission requires some language classes, some maths class, some… maybe friends of you or people you know did not take them -> they got rejected. ( I went to the transfer Thursday, they mentioned it a lot)
And for departments like Foster, Engineering schools… it would be rare to be admitted but not to the UW.
Like many friends of mine got accepted to the Foster last year ( they were all from South Seattle College). A month later, they all got their acceptance letters from the UW.
@thaipq I’m a student reapplying after getting rejected when applied after one year at Bellevue College so now I’m back after my second year. I was accepted into my major but UW denied me. They require 4 English classes which I completed 6, 3 math classes which I’ve completed all the way up to calc 2, 3 years of Spanish and I did 4 years in high school includes UW Spanish that my HS offered. I graduated in the top 5% in my class so I was pissed my hard work was not good enough for UW. I was accepted to USC, SDSU, and other California schools but decided I rather wait till I graduate to move down there. Believe it or not but I was a victim unfortunately
Anyways my transcript and application are still the same right now but here are my stats
HS GPA: 3.993 (I got one A- my junior year in calc… Still mad)
College GPA: 3.7ish?
Major GPA: 4.0
Accomplishments and others: Graduated HS in top 5%, honor student in high school and college, volunteer for my Vietnamese language school since middle school, volunteer at Seattle Childrens Seattle campus, Certified Nurse Assistant, 3 scholarships…
Cool, the question is now what you did? Your background looks so awesome. Did you met UW advisors?
Hi @bouthatscholar , did the school already tell you that they denied you?
@Nogizaka no this was before I’m reapplying
