Both of them applied directly major I believe, one was communication and the other is business. they knew way before June.
But they got rejected by UW general admission
@thunald just wondering, are they in-state or oos? also, cc or not?
Anyone else apply with the intended major Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations?
No rejection letter here yet, although I suspect that the folks that were rejected due to CADR issues or other requirements missing already received theirs. No change on the MyUW site, or the Transcript page for me either.
I beleive they are instate CC transfer
Instate CC transfers can still be rejected due to CADRs missing, or the lack of a plan to address CADR issues prior to matriculation. Keep in mind that the DTA degree only guarantees the acceptance of your credits. It does not mean you meet all of the CADR requirements at the UW.
Case in point - I had 3 quarters of English which met 3 of the 4 years of English required by the CADR at UW. ENG101, ENG235, CSMT280 (which I took to fullfil diversity requirements, not for ENG credits). UW contacted me to tell me I needed one more quarter of English and that it could not be another speech class, like CMST280. So I signed up for ENG111 at Bellevue College and informed them that I would take that in Summer to meet the CADR prior to Fall.
Here is the worksheet someone would use for the basic Arts and Sciences AA:
http://www.bellevuecollege.edu/worksheets/pdfs/Transfer/AAS_DTA.pdf
It only enforces 2 years of English. For folks that did not take qualifiying English courses in high school, or that didnt take any English in high school (i.e. GED, like me) just obtaining the DTA isnt enough to get into the UW as a CC transfer by itself.
Hey guys,
I am an oos who was accepted by another school and their last orientation will be held on Thursday. Anyone knows if I can register for classes while I’m still waiting for UW’s decision? Does the enrollment mean I just give up my chance being admitted to UW?
You can do as you like in terms of registering for classes at another instutition, just be mindful of their refund policy in the event that you get accepted by UW and want to go to UW instead.
I completed the world language portion in the CADR for transfer but that was in High school, would that still count?
As long as you have two years of the same language, you will be fine. I had to complete that via classes at Bellevue College, in fact I am taking SPAN122 along with ENG111 in Summer Quarter - both for CADR prior to UW matriculation.
@nmn69500 I am in the same position. I’m trying to prolong my orientation until July. I thought if I don’t hear back by the end of the month from UW then I would do my other university’s orientation. I really don’t want to lose money because a deposit could be equivalent to a plane ticket (I am sure you are having the same issue).
:-?? :-?? :-?? :-?? :-?? :-?? Still waitingggggg mannnnn it’s killing.
Meanwhile, UWB is STILL accepting applications for Fall 2015. Tale of two worlds…
I just got my letter today! I’m in Washington state. So if your a Washington resident there is a chance your letter is in the mailbox.
Does your transcript load? Does your MyUW status message say anything different now?
Edit: I read back a few pages and saw your post about the message changing, etc. Congrats!
My myUW page changed but my transcript still isn’t loading.
Still status quo over here. No change to MyUW at all, and error 500 on the transcript page. What changed on your MyUW page?
I applied too and I live in WAshington state and haven’t heard anything. I was admitted last year as a freshman but opted to go to a different college. My UW page just says “thanks for applying blah blah” and my transcript won’t load. Ugh I hate this waiting game
I hear you on not being a fan of the waiting game. I was hoping that this process would conclude prior to Summer 2015 starting up, so I had a clear vision of what Fall and beyond will look like, but that is not looking promising.
