Hi! So I recently applied to the University of Washington Tacoma as a transfer student. I currently attend community college in California and am on my 4th semester. I am a political science major. In regards to my stats.
SAT score: 1200
College GPA: 2.675
Semester credits: 40+
In regards to my gpa, a couple semesters ago I had some personal things happen in my family and neglected my schoolwork. I ended up getting two F’s because of this which brought my gpa down some. I reflected on this in my application. However, I did retake the classes I had failed and got B’s in both of them. I have a lot of extra curricular activities such as volunteering, and I work two jobs. One of my jobs in interning for a local state officials office which relates back to my major.
On the application it says you must have a 2.0 to apply. And there’s a section where if you have lower than a 2.5, you must explain why. I know my gpa isn’t exactly the best but it’s above the required and the 2.5 and I worked hard to do better in the classes I previously had failed and ended up doing much better the second time around. Can anyone please share some insight on what they think my chances of getting into UW Tacoma as a transfer are? Thank you!
