Hi

I just go accepted to UW(Univerity of Washignton). Although, I got rejected by the ivy leagues(except top three). I was wondering what are my chances if i transfered to Penn next year.

High School
GPA: 3.89 (3/4 of classes are replacemnt courses for bad grades)
SAT: M 680, R 640, W 610
Extracurricular: TaeKwonDo, Bunch of Work Hours, Band, Chess
Alumni: Three related

UW
GPA: 3.7 (assuming)

not great. im assuming penn will accept less than 10 kids for transfer next year and a 3.7 with a 1320 doesn't out you in good position for that. are you oos for uw?

Probably slim chances.

depends on the school at penn to which you want to transfer...

Im trying just of General College of Arts.....
I probably be taking heavy dose of economics both micro and macro

Anyone know my chances at any other ivy league school?? Any good chances?

I could also apply to Wharton which is where my alumnis are related. Assuming i take lots of economic courses this could help although im not sure.

Could it help if I took the SATs again....

yes it would definitely help.

im assuming wharton is quite hard to crack especially transferring in. you may be better off applying as a freshman to the program

it is more realistic for you to try to transfer to the college, not to wharton.

I'm just wondering, were you waitlisted at UW and the ivies? Why did you just get your acceptance letters?

I got directly into UW

But I didnt get placed into any waitlist
Im sort of planning this out...I think my chances would be much better if i applied as a transfer because my old grades and scores wouldnt mean as much

Does anyone know my chances at any other ivies....better chances than Penn

as previously stated its very hard to tell and with many ivy's you have a very poor chance unless you are applying to less-than uber competitive special programs (see penn nursing or cornell hotel management) ive heard yale admits like 5 transfers a year meaning you stand against great odds. pwn UW get a 4.0 get great recs and maybe you can crack an ivy but it will be tough
