Hey guys! I was wondering if anyone else is applying for UWC this year and if so, what national selection committee are you applying to?
Hello! I’m Nigerian applying to UWC ISAK Japan through the GSP. Currently in the application process. Have you already applied? Which UWC do you want to go to? It would be great to start to know everyone!
–Also created a thread on The Student Room (UWC 2019 Entry)
I’m Canadian applying through my national program, and I’d love to go to either UWC Atlantic or Adriatic! I know a few people who have attended both. I’m also looking at a few others, but those are my main two!
Which ones are you looking at @KingKore?
Hey guys! I’m American applying through US National Committee. I am looking at UWC Changshu and UWC ISAK. I’m half Chinese and half Japanese, and I really want to get into UWC
Sorry, but I’m new to college confidential. @KingKore, can u send a link fo the thread you created?
Hi! I’m American applying to UWC through the US National Committee. I really like UWC Adriatic and UWC Atlantic too.
I heard that mostly juniors get into UWC because the process in the US is so competitive; has anyone heard of any sophomores getting in as well?
I have heard of sophomores getting in, but it is true that majority of accepted students are juniors. I have two friends who got in a couple years ago as sophomores.
Hi! I know I’m a bit late but I’m also really interested in UWC ISAK (as well as RCN, AC, and CR) and applying via GSP. I found out a week ago that I managed to get an interview in Frankfurt! Is anyone else going?
Hey, I have applied to the national selection committee in India. Waiting for the interview call (hopefully).
Does anyone know when interviews start for US committee applicants?
Hi, I applied to the USA National Committee. Ditto to faizan21 - does anyone know when we receive further info about the application process?
My best friend got into the USA UWC campus, applying as a sophomore.
Hi guys. My sister applied last year and go to the second interview but did not get in, so I know a little about the dates. If it is the same as last year, we will be notified if we get into the first interview near the end of November. I am also applying as a sophomore from the USA national committee. Wish you all luck and keep this thread updated!
My daughter went through the UWC process last year through the USA selection committee. She was notified in late November about moving on to the second round (interview via skype). The interview occurred in mid-December. She was notified just before Christmas that she was selected to move on to the final round which was a two day visit to UWC-USA in mid-January. I think she found out the following week that she was selected and is now a first year at UWC-USA. Good luck to all of you - it’s a great experience.
That’s awesome! I’m also applying through the USA selection committee. I hope you don’t mind if I ask a few questions, I’m so excited! Was your daughter’s preference to go international or go to UWC-USA? What was your perspective as a parent? Thanks so much!!
Congratulations! If I may, I also have some questions about the process. What do you think made your daughter stand out above the rest? I also only have little above average grades, so how do you think I should make up for that. Sorry if I am asking too much of you, but I am very excited to see if I get to go on in late November. My top choices are UWC-Li Po Chun and UWC-Changshu, but to be honest I would love to go to any of them.
Thank you so much for the responses about the dates. I’m so excited, applying this year as a sophomore. Does anyone have an idea of the “acceptance rate” through the UWC-USA National Committee?
Hi! I also have grades just a little above average and am worried that is a weak point in my application, but from my research, it looks like as long as your grades are not bad and you seem to challenge yourself, it’s okay. I really would love to go to UWC Pearson or UWC Robert Bosch, although I would be incredibly grateful to go to any UWC honestly.
Hi! I re-applied this year through the USA selection committee as a junior. Last year I was rejected in late November after the application round, but I’m hoping after having a year to strengthen my application and extracurriculars that I may have a better chance. My best-friend got in last year as a sophomore and she now goes to the UWC-USA campus. Best of luck to everyone applying!
