UWC applicants year 2014

@lalalarae I’m keeping you in practice :wink: every little helps! ;)

@lalalarae, for sure, just don’t be mad if I fling you or drop you or something :D

@farmgirlmoo, for me I procrastinate a lot :P

@RipCity14 we have so much in common!!!

@RipCity14 I speak fluent Hindi too!! It is technically my first language although I can’t really read or write that well. I can, just really slowly. Cricket is also instilled in me, it would be a crime in my house not to like it.
@farmgirlmoo I’m a fully fledged drama geek, I love theatre more than film and I usually tend to thoroughly dislike films ‘based’ off books (because they’re nothing alike) :D

@lalalarae sounds good I’m actually doing my Pre-calculus homework right now

@ripcity14 Thats ok! I’m pretty clumsy myself :)

I just realised how behind I am on this, but I missed 4 pages in a space of a few hours haha

@lalalarae you directed it to yourself :wink: :smiley:
@aureleo YAYAYAYY! drama is the best!:’) I’m the same! you know r+j with leonardo? worst film e.v.e.r. in my opinion! watch the play! far better! however, hunger games was good enough as a film, it was just as good or better than the book… IN MY OPINION!

@Aureleo I’m so jealous I wish I had more than one language to communicate in! I’ve never played cricket before (most americans are more of american football people) but whenever I can get into foreign television I watch it :slight_smile:
I don’t think anyone can ever like a film more than a good book. Although, the Harry Potter movies were pretty good :smiley: but not a very good comparison to the books

well I’m off to do homework, and hopefully get some sleep! night guys! :)

@farmgirlmoo, like I said, a lot of us on this board are eerily similar, and goodnight!

@aureleo, SAME! I can understand Hindi perfectly, but reading and writing is a little slow. And what part of India are you from?

@farmgirlmoo I love Bas Luhrmann, admittedly I didn’t like the adaptation but it was crazy and I loved that. I just watched Much Ado About Nothing when they did it at a local theatre and I thought it was one of the best pieces of theatre I have ever watched. As much as I love my plays, I do fancy a few musicals (Wicked! Hehe). I didn’t really like the Hunger Games in it’s film form, I think us readers had higher expectations of it, and it would have been tons better had I not read the series before. :)

@lalalarae I never really thought it special, but I guess it is an asset. I do speak it with a dialect though, so it’s not proper Hindi per say. I always got confused with American Football, because Ive never actually seen anyone kick the ball, so it’s just like rugby. I’m really clueless to contact sports to be honest, unless it’s Australian football which is the most violent thing I have ever witnesed. I do love the HP films and books, I meant more stand alone books like Gatsby or even PS: I Love You (the film did not do it justice whatsoever) but I was sincerely disappointed with the Percy Jackson series adaptations.

@RipCity14 I’m from Bihar! How about yourself?

Hmm I’m the only one up :stuck_out_tongue: Night you guys!

@farmgirlmoo Oops looks like I did sometimes I have trouble with life haha :)

@lalalarae night!

@aureleo, I’m from Mumbai.

@Aureleo don’t even get me started about Percy Jackson :frowning: I decided to treat it as a bad comedy… American Football is quite like rugby but with more body padding… also the tackles are more like throwing your body at other people to knock them down. Its very funny until someone gets hurt

@lalalarae, I don’t like acting and drama and all that stuff but I love reading. What’s funny though is even though I’m seventeen, I still love reading those action adventure books I read when I was 13 :stuck_out_tongue: My favourite is the Ranger’s Apprentice series by John Flanagan and CHERUB by Robert Muchamore.

@RipCity14 I love Mumbai, I was staying with my aunt in Worli there this summer! I think Raj Thakerey gave us north easterners a bad name - we’re actually very pleasant! :)

@lalalarae Ugh I wish WB did it instead of Fox, as much as I love Logan Lerman, it was dreadful. That would make more sense, they do look awfully padded and kinda ridiculous with those shoulder pads :D

*Thackeray sorry, my autocorrect is pretty annoying :’)

@aureleo the National Committee head office is in Worli! Random, I know lol.

@ripcity14 I’ve never heard of either of those series, but I do find myself looking for an easy read often as an action adventure book! A really chilling book called the Gone series is one of my favourites, but it gets a little creepy/gross. Most of my favourite books are political satire and historical fiction like Doctor Zhivago and 1984!
