UWC applicants year 2014

@bellath the application we are to fill out is the 2014-2015 app because we will (hopefully) start attending our future UWC during that time

@tecz77 I know… I’ve barely done any work now that I have so much UWC stuff I can look at  Sadly I need to keep the grades up for a good UWC report :P

How many of you’ll already got your apps?

@ripcity14 I have mine and I am currently going over it for spelling/grammar errors

@lalalarae, do they ask for exam scores or test scores and for 9th or 10th grade?

@ripcity14 They have asked me for my most recent test score (ACT, SAT, PSAT,or pre-ACT) and for my transcript for the first semester of this school year

@lalalarae, hmm the transcript seems like it would be standard for all places but the SAT and stuff is probably only for US and Canada. Thanks a lot :)

Oh and did everyone get theirs by post or did anyone get their apps online?

@RipCity14 we got ours online

@okp1000, what I wanted to know was did you have to pay for the online app. For my National Committee, to get the app by post you have to pay, but they didn’t say anything about online.

@ripcity14 my online app was free…

@lalalarae, well I just mailed my National Committee about it. I didn’t think of it before, but since I don’t actually live IN India, they probably won’t be able to post it to me anyway.

in the UK, we paid £30 application fee, to contribute to the NC who are volunteers!

@dancingdaisy I WENT TO MALAYSIA LAST YEAR! with my friend! all of her family dislike the heat!!

I strongly agree with whoever said it (goldfish memory, SORRY) that it’s incredible how we can communicate despite lingual differences! :)

good morning from Wales :)

@MediDuet I know I’m pretty lucky haha yeah my parents don’t really think I’ll get in. But it’s better that way - less pressure!!

Well my National Committee just got back to me, apparently I do have to pay for the online form. They said I could make the payment online though.

@Hedwig8 I don’t think my parents think I can get in either. They don’t wanna say it though haha.

@Hedwig8 My parents are exactly the same - it just makes me more determined to go! They’re telling me to apply to lots of other schools, but I can’t imagine myself going anywhere but a UWC college :(

@DancingDaisy I have Malay friends, although they speak French Creole which I find really fascinating :)

@farmgirlmoo R+j yeah it was a crap film but the plot kind of saved it? In my opinion - also the hunger games was a pretty crap film bleh I tried it to watch it again after the anticipation etc had ended and I totally couldn’t cos it was so bad but just my opinions!! Plus the last few harry potters were THE WORST!! They tried to make it so actiony and thrillery and indie?!! Btw sorry for being so behind …

@Ripcity14 OMG I LOVE CHERUB :DDD have u read Gone by Michael Grant - friggin amazing, you must!!!

@Hedwig8, no but I will now :stuck_out_tongue: Does it have a lot of action though (Fighting and stuff)? Or is it more like CHERUB?

@farmgirlmoo good morning! haha  hope you liked Malaysia! Which part of Malaysia did you visit? :D

@aureleo that’s cool  we speak lots of different languages here as the population’s pretty diverse - we’ve got lots of different cultures; so you can find Malaysians being multilingual (speaking Malay, Chinese, English or Tamil) haven’t met anyone who actually speaks French Creole though :)

I guess we’re all in the same situation, my parents are supportive of my application to UWC, but I guess we all don’t want to get too excited…you never know if it may end up as a big disappointment :(

@dancingdaisy I stayed in Penang most of the time, but visited KL, and Cameron highlands! i loved it, thankyou!

@Hedwig8 i guess i didn’t like the acting in r+j much. i did it with a theatre group and our actors and actresses were far better (not me, of course, but the others)
and fair enough! :)
