UWC applicants year 2014

@santoast13 Where do you think your interview will be?

@tecz77 my farm is a charity. It’s set up to promote farmwork, and leaning about things such as sustainability, organic farming for young people. we’re also a WWOOF farm, where people can go and work! and we’re linked with diggers and dreamers! Basically loads of people from all of the world come and stay with me all the time! i think it might be part of the reason I’m not put off by going abroad! every since i was tiny I’ve watched so many people travelling and it just made me want to do it!

@farmgirlmoo, that will DEFINITELY help you get into MUWCI if you want to go there.

@RipCity14 thank you! I’m hoping it helps, but then i done want to use it as a way of getting in! it’s normal for me! at the moment i have two French girls, one Spanish girl, a Hungarian guy and a Serbian guy, and it just seems normal hahaha :(

@farmgirlmoo That is so cool! :smiley: My uncle owns a farm too, but it is really cool to have people from all over the world stay with you…you get to learn so much from them! :)

@farmgirlmoo gurl u made/will make the most of your opportunities by “using the farm” it’s about you as an individual !

@Hedwig8 thank you! it’s hard to know what to write because i don’t want them to get their expectations to high or something! also i dont come across as well as some people when writing!

and yeah, i love the farm :’) and the people who come! :slight_smile: it’s amazing, some only come for like 2weeks, but so much can be learnt in those 2weeks! imagine 2years!

@santoast13, tehnically im right outside of DC in a MD suburb, but we all consider ourselves part of DC because about 98% of the people here hold gov’t jobs, or are diplomats or lawyers who work in DC…
@farmgirlmoo, Wow! It must be so exciting to get to meet so many new people from around the world. I’ve been wanting to go to work on a WWOOF farm since I found out about them two years ago, because I feel like its such a great idea!

@farmgirlmoo can I come :stuck_out_tongue: I’ve never been in a farm

@farmgirlmoo @lalalarae me too!! :slight_smile: I’ve never been to Wales…or any part of the UK or Europe even… :smiley: I would really like to visit Your farm in Wales :stuck_out_tongue: heehee

Yeah actually can I come to your farm I live in London so it’s nnot too far? Aha a bit creepy but yeah it sounds so cool !! Imagine we both got in we could celebrate together?!!

@dancingdaisy I have been isolated to America :stuck_out_tongue:

@hedwig8 @farmgirlmoo I wish I could come celebrate with you!

I know it sounds very idealistic but I want soo much that all of us got a place. I know I couldn’t meet everybody because there are 14 colleges but I want to meet you all so bad!

WAAAA THIS IS CRAZY! if you want to come, probably need to get in touch with my parents :stuck_out_tongue: I’m being serious now! :slight_smile: hahaha!

I really wish we could all meet up! It would be so cool to talk to all of you! Its too bad that we all live in different countries and cant just organize a lunch together or something… :frowning: @farmgirlmoo, I might just take you up on that :)

Had parents evening tonight… was pretty lovely actually! i get on so well with my teachers!! i think it’s really important to get on with teachers. you learn a lot more!

I agree! I have an evening like that next week.
@farmgirlmoo, Your farm sounds super cool! If you don’t know where to fit it in in the app., you should perhaps mention it in your mini personal statement as one of the reasons you want to go, because I assume meeting people from all over the world really influenced you in that…
I live in South Cumbria, near Kendal, and though I don’t live on a farm I’m surrounded by farm. I have cows on one side, sheep the other, a field of adorable ponies on another side, not to mention the 4 dogs and chickens next door and the countless cats wandering around… It’s tons of fun and an interesting experience for me (but one that I love!) after living in the capital city of Tunisia for 8 years!

@MediDuet same here! I feel like a have found a group of people that would all be great friends if we just found a town to live in together or @farmgirlmoo’s farm :p

@lalalarae, wow exactly my thoughts!
The miracle of Internet, when you are at the other side of the world and you ‘meet’ other so very different but so similar to you. And this is because one of all of our goals is to go to a UWC College.

@farmgirlmoo do you have a website? :smiley:
And yeah wish we could all meet in person :(
