In another direction entirely, my mom is completely against me leaving are you guys facing any similar problems?

@lalalarae I’m pretty sure most parents aren’t going to want their kids to be leaving them so early. Especially my parents because I’m the youngest.

@okp1000 my mom keeps trying to come up with things to make me not want to go and try’s to tell me she knows me better than I do and “I’m Goin through a phase”

Huh. thats odd for me because my parents are dying to get me out of the house My mom actually encouraged me to apply to multiple programs, though due to a bunch of problems with other applications and references I only ended up applying to the UWCs (well, I’m still in the process of applying…). Its by far my favorite one, though so I’m happy
But I’m sure most of your parents will be more encouraging when they see how hard you’ve all worked to get in :)

@lalalarae it took almost a year to actually convince my parents so it will take some time.

@MediDuet, it is pretty weird how we all have so much in common isn’t it?

@farmgirlmoo I want to come to your farm!!!
@lalalarae my parents absolutely said no at first until my aunt convinced them (finally) now they can’t wait for me to leave -_- (like @tecz77)
@MediDuet yeah I was so surprised when I met all of you! We all of the same ideas it’s insane I hope we see each other at school next year.

@santoast13 I want to find someone to convince her everyone I’ve told thinks I’m crazy except for my dad

@lalalarae, everyone except your dad and us. :)

@ripcity14 thanks I still might be crazy but not because of UWC :P

@lalalarae has your dad tried convincing her?

@santoast sadly he is just indifferent and okay with it he doesn’t exactly support it or love it

I’ll talk to my mam and dad! and my parents tell me to my face that they want me to go, but then say when they think i’m not there that they’d be really worried and not sure if they could cope… when i went to Malaysia my mum got soo scared… she started thinking i might not come home! and that was just 3weeks!

Hey guise does everyone know what they wanna be?? Cos I have no clue and that’s mainly why I want to do the IB cos of the breadth etc

@Hedwig8, I have a couple ideas, but nothing solid so far. UWC will definitely help in that way.

@farmgirlmoo, I love that you say ‘mam’. Seems so Welsh :D

@Hedwig8 I want to be a human rights lawyer/ activist but it might change I’m only 15.

@okp1000, it might, but that doesn’t mean it will. I remember I wanted to be a Pilot, then an Author, then a musician, then a critic of some sort (food/cinema). You’ll figure it out.

I have no clue what I will be (I’ve pretty much gone through wanting every single job ever…), but oddly enough I’m also leaning towards something involving
human rights. Although i think my parents want at least one child in my family to become a lawyer, as they both are…

@RipCity14 Lol all of those are so different. Hopefully it doesn’t change but I’m open to anything where I get to help others.

@MediDuet I agree with you I really do hope we all get into a UWC… And maybe we would be able to meet some of us ;)
