@RipCity14, how lucky you are!!! And also the 1000th post is yours. (Sorry for noticing things like this. :P)

@MediDuet, HAHA YAYYY! And hey, I read a BUNCH of blogs, and in quite a few, they mention stopping over in Dubai on the way to MUWCI. If I remember correctly, you’re in Eastern Europe somewhere so a stop over in Dubai is probable, and assured if you fly Emirates to India. So if you’re there, you can see the A380s. We have a whole terminal for them now, you have to take a train from the main airport to get there. If you’re flying Emirates from the UK, or Canada or HK to Dubai, you will definitely be on and A380.

@RipCity14, yes there are always UAE A380s over us in the air. Usually from/to Dubai and the destinations/departures are Paris, London, Frankfurt, Munich, Birmingham
When I looked for flights to LPC UWC it suggested via Istanbul. But we’ll see if we get in. :)

I guess you’re right … thats one thing that is amazing about living around here… people can randomly open up to you and tell you thier life stories without any regret because you’re complete strangers! I should learn to appriciate those little things more… LOl that sounds like an awful time! You have no idea though… If there’s a movie here that somebody i don’t know loves as much as me… we just go together and hardly remember each other later down the road.
True say though… i don’t remember any parks in Dubai! Beautiful gardens however! I live in the country so there’s no need for a park even though we have one nearby! Growing up the park was the one place you could just go to for no reason… play, explore, smile, live and make friends.
Thanks for letting me remember these little things that i didn’t appreciate as much.

@smelltheroses91 haha canada seems awesome! Yeah there is a lot of bullying here in the USA, or at least in my school. We have fights in my school almost everyday. :(

@lalalarae you are soo lucky. Here in New Jersey our beaches are yellow and the water is a greenish brown. So gross.

I’m going to be honest with all of you and say that I hate snow. Yes it is beautiful to look at and watch fall from the sky, but to touch and walk in… It’s cold, wet, and gross. After swim practice today it started sleeting on me. Not fun, but maybe it’s because I prefer hot weather?

We had a choice between three long essay topics:
Name someone who has influenced you and how they did, talk about a personal, national, or international concern and its importance to you, or name a fictional or historical person and describe how they influenced you. I chose the second one. What do you guys think about my topic:
Military deployment and its impact on a soldier and their family. By choosing this, it is a personal, national, and international concern of mine all at the same time. I already wrote and edited the essay, but do you guys think it’s a good topic choice? I really want my essay to sound good and talk about who I am all at the same time.

But seriously guys, I feel like the only one on here obsessed with AC. Any good blogs out there?

@Santoast13 i can agree with you about the snow
i hate the snow when it becomes too much… snow for a month and i will love it… snow for 4 and it becomes unbearable… especially when the next two will be mush
I was born and raised in one of the warmest countries in the world and i miss it dearly-- not that i really miss the constant stickiness but it beats this!

Your essay topic seems excellent! I love how it relates to everything you have and then yourself… Keep it that way.
And may i ask what is AC?

@smelltheroses91 it’s UWC Atlantic, the one in Wales
and thanks for answering!!

Happy almost Thanksgiving for all of my American friends out there (I probably won be on tomorrow so I’ll wish you a happy thanksgiving now!)

@Santoast13 I was just msging smelltheroses and we were geeking out about HARRY POTTER and the gorgeous campus AC has. So yeah, don’t worry, other ppl are obsessed too ;)

@Santoast13 I think that’s a great topic, once you are passionate about it the topic doesn’t matter as much.
Sometimes I wish it would snow in Jamaica today was unbelievably hot.

Anyone interested in Pearson?? Haven’t seen many ppl taking bout that one. Idk if you guys did this (maybe I forgot; been stalking the thread for a while now), but top 5?

Pearson

LPC

RCN

Atlantic

Waterford K

@awkwardbirdie918 omg I love Harry potter. One of my many obsessions lol.
My top five:
Atlantic
USA
Pearson
Adriatic
RCN (it would be probably higher up on my list, but I lose circulation really easily in the cold)

@okp1000 thank you
yeah after so much hot weather I could see why you would want snow. It would probably be VERY refreshing.

@santoast13, AC was the first college I found out about and was totally obsessed with, until I decided that I would love to go to any of them and put ‘no preference’ on the application.
As for blogs;
I think some one already suggested Jessica and the Whale, but this was one of the first ones I read:
[Lilyinthevalleys | Lily in the South Welsh Valleys](http://lilyinthevalleys.■■■■■■■■■■■■■/)
And I have found links to these, but havent read them yet myself, so I’m not sure how useful they are…
[Pebbles on the Shore: Khao San Road](Pebbles on the Shore: Khao San Road)
[AC life: December 2007](AC life: December 2007)
[My AC Life](<a href=“My AC Life”>My AC Life)

I just filled out my application yesterday I am so excited to see if I get in.

I have only ever had one job before. I was a ranch hand on our family ranch working 70 hours a week while still going to school. My grandfather has kidney failure so he is unable to take care of it. No one was willing to help him so I told my parents I wanted to help him so I moved into the old ranch house and learned all about farming and ranching. I completely took care of everything on the farm for 3 years. Then my family moved out of state and I had to go with them. I really wish I could have stayed. I put this on my application and I poured my heart out. Does it sound like a boost for me application wise?

@Santoast13
**** AC!!!
you prob already heard awkwardbirdie tell you about that freaking amazing school. If i got in there i would dress up like a Hogwarts student next to the school and take a pic- just to make my friends jealous!
Getting accepted there would be like getting accepted to HOGWARTS except in our world…
if i got in i would secretly hope that the school is actually hogwarts in disguise… and the whole series was based on J.K. Rowlings experience there. HOW FAB WOULD THAT BE.

If i wrote about losing a friend to suicide would the committee look upon me negatively

@Austin96
YES! showing that initiative is amazing… you honestly showed a lot of traits they’re looking for… involvement, passion, dedication,determination…

wow man you’re inspirational. Wish i could get to meet you!
