@amartyaU123 What? Where did you hear that? As per my knowledge, there are multiple group discussions. :o
As for the number of people we have to speak in front of, I think it’ll just be 10. It’s quite time consuming for 40 people to each speak for 5 minutes.
@binaryguy101 Hey!! I’m in Group C too!!! And yeah, congratulations to all of you on your selection to the final stage
I’m looking forward to meeting all of you guys there.
I think for the object presentation, it’s best to bring something that describes what you’re passionate about.
@xHopex I’m from Bangalore, and I’m doing the CBSE board.
Well, I haven’t really decided what to get for the object presentation, but I believe it’s more about the presentation and how you deliver your opinions than the object. So I think I’m going to get an object that not only means something to me, but about which I can talk well.
Hey! Sorry I’m late!
I got selected for the interview as well
I’m in group B. And I’m currently studying in the ICSE board (pray for me, my exams are on X_X )
Hi everyone…
I am Muskan from Shimla…I have also been selected for the interview. I’m in an ICSE school right now (Auckland House School,Shimla)
I am in Group C. How do you suppose should we prepare for the aptitude test? What will it be like? Any idea?
And @amartyaU123 are you quite sure about us being 120 in number because they didn’t tell us anything like that in the acceptance mail… I mean…they could have told us you know…about it …
I am thinking of getting my diary as the personal significance thingy…
But all this is so not letting me concentrate on my boards… :’(
Just checked my email again … They said - I am in Group C on day 3 and… "You will be in a group of about 10 student applicants, engaged in activities, discussion groups and games. "
If the “Group” is C and there are 10 in each “group”…
Then… I am hoping we are only thirty… I’d want most of us to get in…
Anybody else in Group C too?
@aayush98 I agree! I also feel like it’ll make it so much easier to answer questions about something that you’re genuinely passionate about.
@randomness12345 Hello! How have your boards been going? I’m in group B, too! Where are you from?
@Parkhi Hi, Muskan! I would say don’t stress too much about the aptitude test. It’s supposed to be fairly simple, and I heard that it was somewhat formatted like the SATs (I could be completely wrong on this one, though.) Here’s a link I found about the selections in 2012. http://muwcimonthly.blogspot.in/2012/04/inc-weekend_29.html I don’t think the number would have changed drastically. I hope this helps to clear up the confusion I wish we could all get in as well, but only(about) half of us will. Oh, well. At the very least this weekend should help us make some friends and meet some interesting people!
@xHopex hi! I’m from Mumbai, and you? My boards are going pretty good, thus far! Are you from icse? Otherwise, did you read about the whole geography paper drama?
@randomness12345 I lived in Mumbai for 12 years, but I’m in Hyderabad now. That’s great, I’m really happy for you. I did ICSE up until 8th grade, and then shifted to IGCSE. It’s wonderful, but it also means that my boards are in May… so close, yet so far, haha. I know a little bit about the scandal, didn’t the board copy most of it from the Bombay Scottish prelim paper? :o
Hey everyone! Sorry I’m late.
Im Garima, living in Ahmedabad! CBSE board!
Im in Group B! Signed up for the express purpose of getting to know a few people before the interview!
Im rather nervous!
@garimav hi there! I think everyone is a little nervous, haha, but hopefully knowing someone before the actual process will help ease some of the nerves. What are your top three UWC preferences?
Hey, I’m Sakshi and I’m in Group A on the 3rd.
About the interview, I know a few people who have been through the process before and all the previous years it’s been a couple of games with the current students and alumni and then the presentation. It doesn’t really matter what you bring tbh they just want to see how good your public speaking skills are. After that there is an interview by a panel of 3 (at least it was last year) for about 30 minutes, so y’all might want to keep a couple of stories ready idrk. The aptitude test is not much to worry about, it’s going to be basic school level stuff apparently.
ALSO HI I’M REALLY EXCITED GROUP A HOLA AT ME.
Also, if you want a few laughs as well as a basic idea of what it’s like, I found this blog post by some girl from Delhi. It’s from wayy back in 2012 but she gives details. Embarrassing ones but details nonetheless. http://liveenglish11.blogspot.in/2012/04/uncut-priya-poddar-shraes-unabridged.html
